One time, my friend told me that my cat got into my room and knocked over one of my figures. I said "Which one?" and they said "The red one". 0_o

Is it supposed to be a reference to red shirts?

I have one: I was at a yard sale and I spotted the filthiest most paint chipped 1 armed April O' Neil figure.. as I picked it up I saw the remaining hand hand been thoroughly chewed. The lady saw me checking it out and says "if you can find the other arm and glue it back on that toy is worth alot of money"

I go into walmart to return a clipped-finger crankcase. And the person refunding me is apparently a TF fan. We have a discussion for about 5 minutes about Transformers, and what we like to collect...
Just saying, even if you think you're alone in the collecting biz. That doesn't mean you are...

My sister thinks all red TF figures are Optimus Prime. I once asked her to pick me up a Universe Sideswipe from the store she works at and wrote down the name and product number. But she came home empty-handed and told me all they had in stock under that product number were Optimus Prime cars. :dunce

Ha! Whenever I tell a non-TF fan that I am a collector or I have a collection, they always ask "do you have Bumblebee?".
If I'm feeling in a particular mood I respond with "what, the yellow one?".

I've lost count of how many times I've shown my sister red TF that aren't Optimus and she just can't seem to retain that information. Maybe it was for the best that Ironhide and Sideswipe weren't red in BayFormers. She doesn't have this colour tunnel vision for any other figure/character/colour, just Optimus.

Whenever I have yellow figures on my car boot stall kids are always going 'Bumblebee!'. Then I have the moral issue of do I correct them and perhaps they walk away or do I just say 'Yes, it is' and sell them the not-Bumblebee figure.

Yeah it does get annoying that as soon as you tell someone of my age group that you're a serious collector they immediately ask " Do you have Optimus Prime?".

It's also funny to show them Alternators and Masterpiece and they go " Wow! I had that same one, just like it, when I was a kid." Which there is no way they did because they didn't exist in 1987.

There's always that agonising pause in your brain where you consider, is it really worth taking the time and effort to explain that... Actually no, it isn't. Yes I have the yellow one.

Another one is when I mention that I have over 300 figures and they get all confused, replying "but there wasn't that many in the films were there? Do you have lots of the same one then?"

Hate to say it guys, but there is no reason for anyone besides us to retain the toy information.

Being married, if I retained even 25% of the shit my wife says, I would be golden. I am just happy she knows they are transformers.

I teach 5th-7th grade and with the movies and Prime, Transformers seems to come up in conversation from time to time. My favorite was when one of the kids started telling me about the "Original Transformers", and said all the stuff I was saying was wrong. For example: "Did you know Bumblebee wasn't even in the original show?". True story, I swear. (Maybe the "original" show in his mind was Armada?)

I swear I didn't make that up. I've just accepted that the Movies are "Transformers" to todays kids, I don't even bring up Generation 1, since they can't even grasp the concept of what "1984" is
