So, what's been the best meal you've had lately? This morning, I had the best breakfast I've had in a long, long, time. Maybe ever. We went to Cracker Barrel, and I had the pancakes with fresh blackberries in blackberry sauce and whipped cream, two eggs over easy, a couple nice, thick slices of bacon, and an orange wedge garnish. Simply fantastic, and I had to rave about it. Fresh coffee to drink, and a taste of my wife's biscuits and gravy, and the meal was complete. All for under $10. Much tastier than other, more expensive meals I've had. -Tony!
I went to Chipotle for the first time a week ago while I was at my sisters place, and it was pure awesome. The best way I've found to describe it is a combination of an old fashioned Mexican resturant that's been combined with a Subway (they way its set up is like a Subway). It's way better than Taco Bell (aka they have real food). I'd love to go there again if there was one close enough to justify, but oh well. One of the best parts there was the lemon and lime wedges they have sitting out. I grabbed two lime wedges and put them in my coke (I still think that they should bring that back at some point).
I had a Rueben sandwich for the first time yesterday, and it was teh shit I always thought it would suck because of the sour kraut, but I find myself wanting another right now....
Does spending the past 3 days eating 2 18-inch party subs count? They was BOGO, so they was only $9 total.
Reubens are teh bomb. Hey, can't let 'em go to waste, even if means having an Italian sub for breakfast, right?
I love food too much to point one meal out. Some times I can b very content with just a bowl of cereal.
Best meal I've had was a large piece of parmesan chicken with a heap of mashed potatoes on the side. We're having more tonight.
Outback cooks a tremendous ribeye served with a sweet potato covered in butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. That's become my favorite place to eat lately.
*cracks knuckles* A few awesome ones recently, largely because this is my birthday weekend: Thursday morning -- dark chocolate filled croissants (made by my wife) and orange-flavored coffee. (I know it sounds weird, but it's awesome!) Thursday evening -- sushi (spicy tuna roll, "Georgia roll" (salmon, avocado, and cream cheese), and shrimp tempura roll), hibachi fried rice, and hibachi scallops with mushrooms. Made even better by the fact that it was free at a sponsored educational dinner. Today -- breakfast - homemade cream cheese Danish and more orange coffee. lunch/dinner - again, all scratch made by my wife: salad with lemon tarragon mustard dressing; chorizo/Manchego cheese/Kalamata olive puffs; and fettucini with shrimp, shiitakes, and saffron cream sauce. (Yes, she even made the pasta from scratch.) Still to come once the other stuff has digested: caramel cheesecake. My wife rules. Nay, I say. Sauerkraut is of The Devil.
The meal I had while out for dinner last Saturday was very nice. Haggis, turnip and mash. In fact I think all who was with me had a pretty good meal.
I had the Six Dollar Cheeseburger today. It was about as big as my head, and it was satisfying. Like a heart attack on a bun. Calm it down chief. There's a line between humorous and the Crunch Wrap Supreme.
Let's see. Dining out: Morimoto's in Philadelphia last weekend. It was damned expensive but pretty damned delicious. I mean how can you go wrong with the Japanese Iron Chef? Dining at home: Any time my wife cooks is good eats. She prides herself in being a foodie.
I just got back from an extremely satisfying meal for a friend's birthday; onion Bhajis, Lamb Rogon with pilau rice, toffee cheesecake, and Irish coffee. Om nom nom.
I don't know, but I've had a delicious homemade lasagna for the past three days. I finished the last piece for breakfast this morning. Nom, nom. For dinner tonight, I'm treating my Dad and taking him out to eat for either Mexican (Macayo's, On The Boarder) or Italian such as at Olive Garden or a locally owned restaurant.
its pretty basic and a part of a national chain but all that aside this was WICKED awesome: PF Changs - KUNG PAO SCALLOPS... Quick-fired with peanuts, chili peppers and scallions. I wanted two plates of it but I was good
