    I have to admit I didn't see them first time. I'm sure I'll be enlightened when the DVD is out. I love a sense of homage and nostalgia, preferably subtle, but some work being 'in your face' quite well.
    Like I said, even if its not intentioned by the writers/animators, a familiar note is hit with some people. :thumb

    I saw someone do a backflip on a trampoline. Is that homage as well? Well, I noticed the backflip and stuff..... but does that really count as a homage? Also megatronkicksas wins the thread.

    I'm not a mod, but you guys aren't being very friendly to the new people here. Dogpile, why don't cha, just for a cheap laugh at someone else's expense?

    How about turning this into a thread of legitimate homages so people can tell the difference? Do something constructive instead of prove who can be the snarkiest?

    There's over 25 years of Transformers. There's not a lot of things that can be done that can't be seen as a homage or a nod, intentional or otherwise. To chatsize someone for asking or thinking it might have been is rather childish, even for the Movie forum.

    I know it isn't part of the 86 film and I know I'm gonna get pounced on, but the biggest homage story wise, to G1 in particular was the Sun Harvester. 'Sun Needle' from the G1 episode 'Changing Gears'. Though, maybe its more of a direct adaptation than an homage?
    Just wasn't mentioned yet, so I thought I would. :thumb

    In the forest battle, Prime grabbing the tree to beat Megatron was like a G1 episode when Starscream grabs a tree to beat up an autobot.
