I literally thought the same thing. That would be so dumb, it might actually be awesome. Prime ends up man-crushing on Monkey King and scans him for an alt-mode in Transformers 6 or 7. Totally Bayriffic.

 

This sounds really cheesy and weird to me. Should be great........so long as its a cartoon and/or animated film, however Spielberg is part of the team and I've never seen him do a cartoon/anime style project. All his projects are live action which doesn't give me hope for this being a cartoon/animated film style thing. Honestly if this is live action I envision it being awkward and cringey, rather like ROTF

 

Unknown event reports movie crossover between Monkey King and the Transformers. Promo images for this film seem to be photoshopped. China is well known for their respect of international copyright law, as seen in the release of China's animated film named "The Autobots," which seems to be a knock off of Pixar's "Cars."
And fans are wondering if it will be in continuity with Michael Bay's movies.
Did I miss some info?

 

The monkey king reminds me of that kid from Jumanji, starring Robert Williams, once he turned into half monkey and boy.
I honestly can't take the monkey serious at all.

But if Steven Spielberg is seriously putting his name on this project, then I'm curious just what comes of this new take on Optimus.
