    figure this belongs here ....

okay so the original fort max isnt likely to get re-issued becuase of some breaking rule when being dropped off a building or some nonsensical malarky.

    sooo ...

lets talk about a new fort max that wont suck.
    my submission:
since the battleship mode was an understatement in the original toy but was heavily used in TF:HM, was not have Fort Max be an aircraft carrier. "but thats broadside ..." now wait, i chose this alt mode for a reason, its big enough that it could transform into a base mode that could loosely resemble the G1 base mode. the front portion of the ship could split, being the 2 launch ramps and also working as the arms. the back quarters could split as well, and fold in to similar to the G1 version, and since an aircraft carrier already has a tower on it theres your central tower. cerebros would plug into thus, keeping his command station for spike.
the only issue i have with imagining this, is how the legs might look. they could borrow some design ideas from majin zarak, however i think a more human foot than monster would be best here.
his 2 barrelled blaster could remain on command tower, where as the big gun could be stored between the arms while in battle ship mode.

    ....

actually as im typing this and thinking about it, it'd be almost like Macross-1.
    Rosanna could be min-mae ....

    I don't think we'll see a classics-inspired reincarnation.

Maybe if he appared in the Prime cartoon somewhere, we could get a Supreme class. A battleship or A.Carrier mode would be indeed sweet.

I stand by my idea of Fort Max as a prison transport vehicle.

I've made it a point to leave Season 4/Headmasters off of my Classics display, but if I did want a new Fort. Max., I agree on the Aircraft Carrier idea. They're essentially large, floating, self-sufficient cities anyway.

As for Broadside, since he triple-changes, I'd prefer he turns into something a little more acceptable to turn into from a jet. A Coast Guard boat or something.

Hopefully the Cyberverse stuff they're doing with DOTM will give us a chance at having city or ship playsets like Fort Max and Metroplex in the future.

Yep... the flat nature of the ship are "natural ramps" ready to be expanded/reconfigured for base-formers.

For a triple changer with TWO alternate modes that serves almost the same purpose (sea faring)... its a bit redundant dont you think so?

I like the ship idea but how about a Battleship instead? that way it could have a battle mode for the city mode and having a shit ton of guns is appropriate to the character.

If Hasbro continues the cyberverse line the next time we get a classics filler (maybe after Prime?), that might be our best bet to get a Fort Max with a base mode. Something at the Ark price point might work, but we are taliking a more complex transformation than the current Ark for Fort Max.

As popular as Fort Max is, I would rather see an Omega Supreme done again first.

i think he meant a jet and a coast guard boat.

and yeah a cyberverse fort max might be cool. though i wouldnt mind spending more for it since youre right its prolly our best bet. though they may say minicon transport base or something if in filler for generations.

also, given the original toy was $100, i dont see why $60 would be a terribly bad price to pay.

i'd like to see omega supreme too, as energon OS may fill the void, but doesnt fully do the job.

I don't mind the idea, but unless it's Ultra Class or larger I really wouldn't be interested in it...and I realize the chances of that happening are about the same chances of getting a G1 reissue.

Call me crazy, but I miss the size variety we got during the Unicron Trilogy. Supreme, Leader, Ultra, Voyager, Deluxe, Scout...SO awesome. Now with the leader class just being relegated to popular characters (which I understand why) and ultra class being axed, everything is pretty boring IMO. The size differences between Voyagers and Deluxes are, for the most part, not that drastic anymore which really doesn't seem to give much variety.

/end rant that really has nothing to do with the topic. Sorry.

oh no its on point we want a big, almost too big Tf and your right about the size classes being hardly noticable lately.

he'd have to be leader or supreme class as the very least.

how do we feel about him having mini-con ports?
    and having the master sword?
