I was thinking. There have been many toylines marketing updated G1 figures since the original Classics line 10 years ago, so I was thinking: isn't CHUG, the commonly used acronym for Classics/Henkei/Universe/Generations figures, a bit dated? Well, worry no longer! With the new line using the working title, "Power of the Primes", I have worked out a new acronym to abbreviate the updated G1 lines and further frustrate the people who hated the CHUG acronym in the first place.

From henceforth, we should cast away the days of CHUG and usher in the new era... of CHUCLE CAPTUR.

    C lassics
    H enkei
    U niverse
    C loud
    L egends

    C ombiner Wars
    A dventure
    P ower of the Primes
    T itans Return
    U nited
    R eveal the Shield

    Anyone? Anyone?

Fair enough. This acronym is for people who want to encompass all the toylines without allowing for confusion with just the Generations line.

Nope, CHUG has become ubiquitous enough that people generally know what you are talking about

No need to change what isn't broken

the reason CHUG works is it's short, tidy, easy to type, all-encompassing of the various "Classics" based lines and (most) everyone knows what it means (even if they hate it), just like AEC encompasses the Unicorn trilogy.

It's just convenient shorthand for getting your point across.

This. Plus the G stands for Generations, CW, TR, and Potp are all subthemes of Generations, just T30 and the FOC portion. If someone is refering to a specific figure, they just say "RTS Lugnut."

Crappy Hollow Uninspired Generations. CHUG has never been more fitting for the line...

Just leave it CHUG. It's quick, easy, everyone knows what it refers to... and best of all it offends the easily offended.

No reason to be pedant about a toy line.

Cftlaiotoatris? Okay, fine....I'll let them off the hook with the 'for' 'the' 'and' & 'of', but you can't just skip 'their' because it's convenient. It's still clitotris at best.

    CHUG 4 LIFE.

I'm guessing that when Hasbro/Takara do a firm 'restart' of the Generations toyline then fandom will likely want to start using a new term for that and refer to the old toyline as CHUG. But for now CW, TR and PoP are all seen by fandom as a continuation of the original Classics line-- so no need to change the acronym that's become very ubiquitous. We all know what CHUG means.
