There seems to be some differences in sculpted details, so I don't think it's Alpha Pack. The shoulders aren't as wide as AP's, either.

I wouldn't be surprised if AlexWing works (or is a representative) of the company that is producing this. A new member, 2 posts, and a bad google translate....this is their way of a new product reveal. Anyway, my take on it.

Good point, you might be on to something there.

In any case, based on this teaser alone, I already like this more than Spark Toys' version.

Now I'm conflicted. I like how comic accurate the Spark Toys version is, but this might have better engineering.

Yeah, as much as I liked the design for WWOP, he's just a bit too wide and blocky for my 2016 self. This seems like a nice balance between WW and WFC aesthetics, which is neat.

Blend of WW and WFC? That sounds like the DMY one, at first it was a pretty simplistic looking white prototype, but after Spark Toys showed theirs, they went back to the drawing board and some artwork surfaced that showed an awesome looking blend of WW and WFC aesthetics. Daim shared it on his Facebook a really long time ago, I've been trying to find it since but no luck unfortunately.

    EDIT: I've found them!

I do like the look of this toy enough, but... I do feel it's lost some of the character WW Optimus has always had. The shoulder tires are much smaller and narrower and this somewhat waters down the super beefy, powerful feel of the character. In fact, there's a lot of touches like that all around. Sure, it might be a little more realistic, but I don't think that should necessarily be one of the goals, here. The sheer absurdity and over the topness of the WW design is precisely what gives it charm and has made it so memorable.

And as for the WFC/FoC games... the style is all right, but I've always preferred the War Within aesthetic. I like about half of the game designs enough, but some of them are so loaded with lights and layers of armor, they just get a little hard to look at. I like the simplicity and cohesiveness of WW's aesthetic. It's cheesy, but at least it's distinct.

I do think Planet X has done an excellent job making these designs work, though, particularly "Vulcan," their not Grimlock.

I'm super stoked for Spark Toy's War Within Megs, but you know what? If these guys make their own, and they can make the tank mode as clean and alien and weird as it was in the comics without compromising the bot mode, and if it scales well with Alpha Pack, I just might get that one.

it does look like war within all the way, not the wfc optimus,... more comic and less exagerated in wideness like previous 3rd party toys.
Even hasbro's titanium was less wide then 3rd party ones

This one seems less wide and more detailed..will wait and see how this turns out.

Basically it's more idw/stormbringer/shadowplay Optimus. Idw reused the war within design during those stories but slimmed down the overall profile.

Maybe he'll play well with Granville (not pre-earth IDW Megs), then.
