So far there have been a lot of similarities between AOE and TF Animated in my opinion.

    - Hound & Bulkhead are basically same character design
    - OP vehicle slightly resembles the one of TF Animated
    - Lockdown being an unknown bounty hunter like in TF Animated
    - Lockdown captures OP
    - Drifts character in AOE reminds me of Prowl with that samurai look
    - Autobots seek out Dinobots for help
    - Autobots need to tame Dinobots
    - Main human characters are "inventor" and his daughter

    What do you guys think?
Are there any I missed ?

Yeah, I definitely agree that AOE takes a lot from TF: Animated. Especially Lockdown, with his character being a bounty hunter and all. But, AOE looks a lot like TF: Prime as well, with an evil human group using TF tech and making their own TFs (specifically another dark truck). It's like AOE took the best from Prime and Animated and put them together in one movie.

I'd be okay with more Animated in the movie-verse.

    No it doesn't

Drift doesn't even appear in TF Animated. This is the first time Drift ever appears outside of the comics.

And the character has three swords.

AoE Optimus looks NOTHING like Animated Optimus. Because the latter is still a cab-over but is also a firetruck.

    A few problems with this:

-Hound and Bulkhead are both green, yes, but Hound is much skinnier and taller, not to mention his alternate mode is a completely different military vehicle.
-Evasion mode Prime is based off of G1, not Animated, and his other alternate mode is completely different.
-We don't know that he's a complete unknown. Optimus might not know him, but chances are someone else will.
-Drift never showed up in TFA. I have no idea what you're talking about.
-The Dinobots rarely assisted the Autobots, and even then they did so grudgingly. There's only one episode I can think of where the Autobots and Dinobots cooperated, and that was an uneasy truce at best.
-The Dinobots never got tamed. Scrapper assumed he tamed Snarl in Human Error, but at the end of the episode when he tried to jump on his back Snarl kicked him away.

you gotta add the robot dog, Sari had a robot dog, plus I think Tessa is half Cybertrobian, like Sari.

Also Drift was not in animated

I am totally okay with more TFA in anything.

I mean, if the movies could learn from any continuity, Animated is one of the best. Why wouldn't I want my favourite series' concepts adapted into other fiction? (as long as they're done well, loltfprimeclonestarscreams)

This is true. Though I'm glad they're seperate, because Bulkhead's not exactly a guy I want to see carrying more guns than he could ever use in his life. Or smoking. Smoking is bad for you, even if it makes you look cool. Bulkhead's too sweet and innocent to be tempted into smoking by the "cool" kids.

It, uh... really doesn't. At all.

Yes this is true. It is ironic that the most faithful TF character adaptation in the movies is a character who existed after the movieverse started.

This is kind of reaching. Drift, I don't even think has any official visualization for TFA. He's mentioned once.

Also, AOE Drift has four swords. One more than IDW Drift.

Well, they do that in any continuity where the Dinobots exist.

Ditto the above. Comes with the territory.

This is close... but honestly I'm gonna have to chalk it up to coincidence. Sumdac was much more of a mad scientist than idle inventor. But Cade's whole bit DOES resemble young Sumdac. I'd love if it were intentional, but I can't believe it is.

Hound in the movie doesn't resemble the toy at all. He is very much fat and round and Bulkhead-ish. His beard and helmet even resemble Bulk's jaw and own helmet. Also, Hound is actually shorter, if compared to the other Autobots. Bulkhead was taller than Optimus.

And the alt modes are hardly so distinct. One is a green, heavy-duty, six-wheeled truck. The other is a green, heavy-duty, six-wheeled truck. Yeah they're different, but they're easily the closest compared to literally anyone else in the movie.

Animated was a lot of fun, so a few pennies from it tipped into the AoE well shouldn't be too bad.

The fact that Cade is an inventor, plus he's a single father, add the robot dog, plus why is Cade involved with the autobots and the story if he just "found" Optimus Prime, there's gotta be more to it.

I highly doubt John Goodmans' Hound will talk or act anything like Animated Bulkhead.

But that still doesn't lead to anything like Tessa being cybertronian.

Drift reminds me a lot of Samurai Prowl, wouldn't be surprised if that was the primary visual influence.

Take cues from Animated, I loved that show.

I see cues from several iterations. Character references from TFA and some TFP as well.
