They made this lego creator set that is similar to a Kre-o set. What's this all about?

 

Non-news really, as Lego has been making creator sets like long before Kre-o

 

Bulkhead as a triple changer?! Make it happen Hasbro!

 

I really don't see how it's a rip-off. It's not like they're making a whole new sub-line of sets like this. It's one set in a sub-line of theirs that started up before Kre-O did. It's also not the first set like this they've ever done. I can't think of any specifically, but I'm pretty sure I've seen similar sets before Kre-O started up.

Is this a response to the success that Hasbro has supposedly seen with the Kre-O line? Most likely yes, but I don't think that makes it a rip-off.

 

Robots are nothing new for the Lego Creator line. So one of the three builds in this set is a robot? Big deal. Lego's been including alternate build instructions with their sets forever. That one of them is a robot in this set is nothing surprising or new.

This set is only being made "news" by people who know pretty much nothing about Lego. Hell, tformers.com actually thinks the eight year old Lego Creator line is NEW, and being launched to compete with Kre-o.

I don't think this is as much of a Kreo rip-off, as it is a Bulkhead rip-off.

Seriously, it has elements of every Bulkhead, but it's not.

 

It never ceases to amaze me how quick fandoms are to claim other companies are "ripping off" their favored brand over any product that's remotely similar in concept... unless of course it's 3rd parties.
