Imdb forum is full of trolls and haters. But sometimes there is some positive quotes that are worth looking at. A user wrote interesting post. From user mythbustfan:

B. bring someone on board that actually LIKED the transformers from the 80s

C. make sure that person doesn't do the movie solely for a paycheck alone (Seriously, the only reason Bay came back for the 4th movie is because he went to the Universal Studips Park and saw that the line for the transformers ride was two blocks long)

D. make sure that the Chinese goverment have ZERO influence over this movie like they did in the 4th movie

E. make sure the transformers are individuals with their own looks and personalities and make sure that the autobots aren't ALWAYS outnumbered by a factor of between 10-1 to 30-1 odds and still win somehow

have you seen the last 3 movies? 90% of all the decepticons are generic, nameless, faceless, disposable cannon fodder to be killed in the final battle

in the old cartoons, at least, you could tell which transformer was whick just by looking at them. you knew their names, their abilities, their loyalties, everything. In the bay movies, they're not even given enough screen time to give them a name before they're destroyed

Just to point out, I much agree with him about the decepticons. Though, they had next to none personalities in the first movie, they still were named transformers. Actually I liked the scene were Screamers was calling them out and each of them had different response.

 

They have Some one who liked Transformers in the 80's Working on the scripts

 

I think the Bayformers should be more like the Unicron trilogy

Exactly. Why people get that thought drilled into their heads is confusing to me. And if you watch the credits, you see it says "Based on Hasbro's Transformers action figures." It's based on the TOYS. NOT the 80s cartoon! Not Beast Wars, not RID, UT, Animated, IDW, it's based on the TOYS. Which, guess what, ALL OTHER SERIES ARE BASED ON! Even G1 was based on the toys!

Exactly. I would love a jodlin skiing transformer chasing minicons that change names constantly, cause the new one is more cool, or better fitting a character we introduced in tje fourth instalment

 

Michael Bay may not be a fan of Transformers, but he is a fan of blowing shit up, which is an integral part of Transformers.

The problem is that they don't have writers that care to link the whole thing together. Would be badass if they got the dudes doing the IDW prequels to write the scripts.
