Orci sure knows how to get our TF pants a rockin'.
I can't wait for this movie! just bring on the trailer so this board will explode with discussion...then actually explode
Well maybe it shows how low Starscream has become in his quest; we'll have to see how it plays out on screen to debate whether it decanonizes the comics' portrayal. It's not surprising though since Orci has not been involved in the comics since the Movie Prequel.
It's too bad he was unable to participate in the production of The Reign of Starscream like he planned to.
But if he had, then maybe we wouldn't have Mowry's excellent anti-hero. Mowry's Starscream is presumably based on the ROTF script, so if Orci decides to play up slimier elements of the character, who was a blank slate in the first film and very slimy in the prequel comics and novel, so be it; something similar happened in Star Trek when Gene Roddenberry rejected the "In a different reality, I could have called you friend," aspect of the Romulans heavily emphasized in the novels and had them become something Spock would not want to mate with.
40 robots all crammed into a 30 second final battle pyrimid scene woohoo lol j/k
but seriously 40 robots in an hour and a half movie? how? it's gonna be overrun w/ humans.
This will be interesting to see to say the least.
I sure hope so - they "did it" in the ROTF prequel comics. Would be cheap & easy...
though I think it's more sort of stuff.
I'm glad we have more of a G1 Starscream, but it's a shame we might not ever get that megs starscream banter we all know and love.
Seeing how it's a big budget summer movie, I'm pretty sure it'll be longer than 90 minutes.
Well, the prequels I'm sure were written with the ROTF script in mind.
So odds are Mowry's Starscream reconciles somewhat with whatever the movie's doing in the end.
Keep in mind that Starscream as we've seen him in Mowry's universe is a warrior who wants to lead the Decepticons, and has his own ego problems.
It's just a different spin on it all. We're likely not going to see Starscream's own perspective on it in the movie - just everyone else's.
how can Movie Screamer have the G1 Screamer attitude if there's no Megatron to reflect it on?
I don't think Starscream's attitude is going to be exactly like his G1 character.
My guess is that Starscream is going to want to be in charge, but fail at his attempts. Even better, I'm thinking he's going to try to awaken The Fallen to add to his (SS) power, and it's going to backfire epically.
7 of the robots are the constructicons plus devastator so theres 8
Hey if this extra scene Bay talks about that we will love I have high expectations then.
I wish I had a time machine to take me to June 26th right now.
i agree but if megatron dose return then he will have a g1 atitude unless he becomes galvatron n kills starscream he he cant wait till see it
I just hope that the big surprise isn't Galvatron showing up and decimating Screamer like in TFTM. Way too soon. But...you know Bay...
Orci already stated the movie is going to be just as long as the first one, if not a little longer. (144 minutes)
I'll take Starscream from just about any series as long as it means he actually gets to say something instead of being the silent type. That G1 seems to be where they are getting the ideas isn't a bad thing because we've already seen with Animated that kind of Starscream can still work in a different story.
Too bad they couldn't do anything about Starscream being fat and ugly, but hey at least some personality this time couldn't hurt.
Sort of worried though about Bay's
. Not exactly a good track record of giving me stuff to love, but who knows maybe the guy has changed and figured out doing stuff to make fans happy isn't always stuff that would hurt his movie plans.
Peter Cullen's holodriver cameo was in the comics because it was in ROTF's script (as Orci said here).
