[Note: Mostly a repost from the Allspark] I got this idea last night, and it had to be put on paper (and digital paper): Cybertron Sideways as Ratbat, Decepticon Fuel Auditor. Excuse the crudeness of the penmanship, but I did it in 15 minutes. It'd be kind of hard to work him into an imposing character in the Botcon storylines, but I figure the symbol-switcher gimmick could show a dual allegiance between Decepticon/Unicron, or maybe his own personal symbol, what with him having his own faction in War Within II. So here's my running list of Botcon remold ideas:
The Primal and Megatron designs sound interesting, as do the color schemes. Are you going to do full-body art workups for each remold?
Wow... these are awesome! I hope you do full body art and colors at some point. Those would look really awesome!
My current time crunch is kind of a problem, but anyone is welcome to use 'em in a sketch or digibash or whatever as long I get a little credit.
You ought to send Team Botcon these and see what they think. How would you imagine a Cheetor looking like using, say... Nitro Convoy/Overdrive?
I actually think you could do a straight recolor of Override for Cheetor using the original blue/yellow/gold colors from the first release. Hell, the heads even look the same. Observe: Override's head...Cheetor's head. As for Tarantulas, I was going for the less obvious by figuring that the reason he had a motorcycle mode as a Transmetal was because he used to be one on Cybertron (I used the TM colors to boot).
Wow, I kind of love the idea of Crumplezone remolded into Primal. I think now I NEED to see full body artwork.
Okay, I am SO getting an override just for that. I may kitbash some of the other ones, too. You've got great concepts there. I just wouldn't be able to do the details justice.
Oh yeah. Crumplezone is perfect for Primal since he's already got ape aesthetics in robot mode. Take that on almost all of these designs, I followed the same remold type that Botcon used last year... That being, using the original head and either adding on or taking away from it. The Primal head is straight from Crumplezone from the top of the head to the start of the faceplate. I figure the trademark Primal "bent antennae" could be a plastic piece that snaps on where Crumplezone's lower jaw normally would. That way you could move it backwards so the head can fit under the cockpit in vehicle mode.
I like how the Cyberkey gimmick works the same as the original Ultra Primal's main gimmick. Hasbro has to let this one happen.
Man, I know... Ain't it cool? And to think some people suggested Primal be Dirt Boss instead (...right...).
