Lately I don't know what it is. I love some of my deluxe figure (Octane, seekers, Wheeljack, etc). However, half the time when I look over at them I see clutter more so than bot by bot goodness. They almost look clumped together and the same despite the fact they clearly are not. I think it might be the standards of the line in terms of size, design, and what not. I just don't differentiate as well as when I look at my G1's, MP's, and 3 parties. Anyone else experience something like this? Some of the "CHUG" stuff is great don't get me wrong, but my displays just don't seem to stand out like my other stuff does. Maybe its time to rotate and integrate them more so with the other stuff.

spread them out more onto other shelves. or...,

Put some away to make more space and them rotate them occasionally.

Yeah. I have a bad habit of clumping up my shelves as well but I work through it by turning on some music or a podcast and sorting things out on the shelf.
I also am trying to outgrow my habit of mixed generation transformers in the same space. Which was more of a result of accumulating robots than display.

Collection cur-ration can take some practice.

like grim said, curating your display is important. for example you will notice classics made during one year will have a slight change in aesthetics over another year due to hastomtak rotating designers. but as a general rule less on a shelf is more

The less figures on the shelf the better. You don't have to display all your figures at once either. I keep some of them in bins while I display others and rotate my display constantly.

You're trying to identify figures across one size class with figures from other lines of multiples sizes, period.

In G1 all the deluxe cars, despite the name, were of varying heights.

MP Figures do the same, Starscream, Grimlock and Rodimus are the same size, everybody else is different, bigger or smaller. The upcoming Soundwave is even a different size than Starscream.

Universe and by extension Generations\RTS Deluxes are the same size, more or less.

scatter them out in the display.

then again, same/similar molds have been around forever: seekers, 280 bros, even the lambo bros...

custom weapons also seemed to help mine.

risers, makes all the difference between cluttered and not (old pic, this shelf was very cluttered before, still not optimal, but better than it was)
