1. For the episode Possesion, why did they choose waspinator, to be possesed by starscream. Wouldnt Terrosaur be a better choice I mean he has a near perfect voice match he betrays megatron just like star scream and is stronger??? Anybody else see were im coming from??? 2. At the end of Agenda part 3 how is it that Trantulas survived the explosion but ravage didnt??? I mean Trantulas had the bombs on his hands?????? If anybody should of died between the two it should of been trantulas!!??
They guy who did Terrorsaur's voice also did Starscream's (in Beast Wars, not G1), so it may have been too similar and sort of confusing. Also, possessing a character who acts opposite of how Waspinator normally acts made for a more striking difference, I think. As for Tarantulas surviving where Ravage bit the dust, Transmetal armor is more durable than standard Predacon armor, I guess. Plus the guy was pretty old by Cybertron standards.
Well...tarantulas was also a main character where ravage was just a cameo performance.....so of course they wouldnt kill one of their main characters when they were planning a 3rd season. I think they picked waspinator because our of all the preds i think he was mentally the weakest as well....so it was easy for star scream to posses him.
I think the Waspinator/Starscream one's been covered. Terrosaur basically was the Starscream of Beast Wars, so there wouldn't have been as much of a contrast in personality. As for Ravage and Tarantulus, you see in Optimal Situation that, during Megatron's broadcast to rally his Predacons, Tarantulus's little arachno-bots are picking up his pieces in order to put him back together. My take on all the near-death in Beast Wars was that the spark and body are integrated very closely during normal functioning of the transformer such that damage to the body can damage the spark. Stasis lock pretty much cuts off the spark from the body and isolates it safely. This is why you have so many characters taking massive damage, but still coming out of it alive, but why Dinobot succumbed to his damage in Code of Hero. Of course this theory doesn't necessarily hold in some spots, like Waspinator's cartoony destructions, but it seems to hold outside generally barring the use of creative license. Back to the topic, Tarantulus's spark, presumably, went into stasis lock, awaiting introduction into a new functioning body, which would have been provided once the arachnobots did their work. Ravage either didn't go into stasis lock, meaning his spark was extinguished, or, if he did, since no one bothered to patch him up or help him out, his spark was just lost. Then again his body got turned into TM Tigatron and his memories ended up in his Alternators body, so who the hell knows?
Tarantulus had his little spider-drones to help salvage and revive him. Nobody cared enough to salvage Ravage, at least during the series. Hard to say if he was dead or only in stasis lock. Who knows, he (ignoring Botcon or fan stories) could turn up in an archeological dig sometime.
odd, i vagely recall a spiderbot or something nocking ravage's head off the cliff, making it impossible to correctly restore him to his old self.
In Optimal Situation you see the Arachnoid drones salvaging Tarantulas. Also you see an Arachnoid knock Ravage's head off a cliff.
Here's a possible reason for Starscream possesing waspinator. Waspinator may in fact, like starscream, have an indestructible spark, leading starscream to be able to most easily integrate with that spark, as it was much like his own. This would also explain how waspinator was so able to absorb damage without dying.
??? Where do you get that from? According to one of the Botcon stories, he was fixed up as the Walmat exclusive Tripredicus Agent.
In the BinalTech storyline, the flight recorder from Ravage's Transwarp ship was found and it contained all of his memories. His memories could be restored, however he wouldn't be fully sentient without a spark... so they used the "current" Ravage whom they had in custody in suspended animation, forced him to remain in cassette mode, and have him permanently inside the cassette deck of the Corvette body. So... Corvette Alt body + "current" Ravage's spark + BW Ravage's recovered memories = Alt. Battle Ravage. (OK, so technically "BT" Batte Ravage...)
That's what i remember from it... there was a nice Sticky Thread at the AllSpark that had all the pieces to teh BT storyline, but the 'Spark is down last i checked. Nevermore's site has all the info as well. http://www.binalternators.de/ravage_english.html
