Need mp-10 optimus primes right forearm undamaged and paint undamaged. Got mine in the mail and it has a paint mark on the top of the right forearm. Little disappointed after spending so much money. So any help would be appreciated. Here is a pic of it. Maybe someone can repair it, Also just added the gas tanks. I feel as I got cheated but I can't return it just wasted 440 bucks on a hobby i started feel like I don't want to continue now.
To me, it looks like some of the silver paint on the edge just got smudged over on the red plastic. I bet if you take a Q-tip with some rubbing alcohol and carefully go over it a few times, you can clean that up yourself and save yourself the cost of having to buy a whole new arm (which would not be cheap).
wouldnt it remove the red point on the arm? Plus some of that is clear its not all silver. I just want to fix it as I paid a lot for it. I also got the future polish to fix his feet I am not sure how to apply it as I am a new collector.
I added 2 more pictures of my other problem. Can those be fixed? You really think I can fix the smudge?
The smudge on the arm should be no problem. Honestly, I've removed many a paint smudge from some of my TF's with no issues. Just be careful not to wipe off too much of the silver paint from where it is supposed to be. If you have a small screwdriver, it may be helpful to disassemble the arm first just to make sure you don't get any rubbing alcohol on parts that you don't want to remove paint from. As for the gas tanks, unfortunately there is no way to seamlessly touch up chrome. The chrome is applied in the factory using a process called vacuum metalization, where the piece(s) are placed in an airsealed tank, and vaporized metal is added to settle on the plastic parts (see Vacuum metallizing for more info) However, from what I can tell from your pictures, it's just the areas from where the pieces used to attach to the sprue that is worn off. That's just the way it was made. The parts were attached to a sprue when they were put through the vacuum metalization process, and then cut free from the sprue leaving those small spots. Mine is the same way. Out of curiosity, did you buy this used or MISB?
It said new and the tap was still applied. Is there a 3rd party addon for the gas tanks? I got the heads and preordered the hand gun one thats coming out.
its not coming off at all with a qtip and rubbing alcohol. I am getting some slight red on the tip of my qtip. Mines only 70% though.
