I was commissioned to do a Jazz reshell of a 70's 911 turbo. I was inspired before that and when I saw Encline's I had to do one also for myself so I wanted a G1 accurate looking one. I've trashed 2 Jazz's and 2 911's so far and now I finally got the kits 80% cut and both Jazz frame's trimmed down fitting both kits. Both builds will have to have the wheels moved a little but so far I am pleased with the projects. The 70's 911 has a really cool vintage look to Jazz and I hope to build one of these for myself later.... The 935/911 that you will see pictured with the G1 toy just gets me all excited about what I am about to have on my collection shelf in the near future. I do feel Encline's pain on these builds. And I truly understand the work that went into his cause I've lost hair, pulled it out...cusssed ranted and raved and nearly gave up till I finally had a breakthrough on it. So enjoy the pictures...there is a long ways to go...also did I mention I'm putting LED's in the G1 version? oh yeah!!!!
Updated 3 new photo's Wired and LED, switch and battery for the head LED and found a home for it. Also will be running the headlights to the same switch and battery. Finally manned up and cut the front end, still needs refining but I am loving it! Now to get these two up to speed with the Wheeljacks so the paint can fly on all 4 of them!
Hey Jazzman, where are you storing the battery? I've got a similar project and can't find a good place for the battery.
I have the switch and battery inside his waist area man, just enough room for them. Thanks man! yeah those big racing tires are sick on him and makes him look buff man. Updates Added new pictures of the headlight work and how it looks.
Thanks man! yes I do bro...I got it down pat now I think. So far the first 3 have went well with no destroying of any LED's yet. Its running the wires and hiding the switch and battery that is a puzzle to figure out lol. Between you and Frenzy Rumble your tutorials are amazingly wrote out and well described. All you need is a lot of patience and a steady hand as well as holding your breath lol
Thanks man, you could commission one lol ; ) or try it yourself. It is worth the effort dude. Jazz was meant to stay a Porsche!
Would never have attempted a reshell if not for your customs, thanks for the headaches! Jk, thanks for the inspiration, seriously. Makes me wonder if its easier for the Hasbro guys since they do most of it in digi 3d sculpt.
Thanks man...just think how accomplished you will feel when you complete one though! Not sure on Hasbro, I'd imagine just the fact of having access to all that is needed to build these at their disposal makes it easier. But I think they could learn a thing or two from some these customizers though. Seems like lately they are only worried about how many repaints of one mold they can do to drain our pockets dry lol.
