Wouldn't at some point the car should have been towed?

What's the point of sticking on the 100th ticket?

Any other time someone leaves a car parked for too long it gets towed lightning fast. That thing must look like a pile of paper with all those ticket on it.

But at the very least if the law states the car should've been towed after thirty days then that should be an end to the matter and any tickets issued after that time cancelled.

I know Chicago airport is one of the largest and most busiest airports in the US but they can't see this car standing there for months?

yes and no it was her ex boyfriend bought the car and registered it in her name and after using it dumped for some reason.

Not enough information to judge if their was any any malice in the ex boyfriend's decision to leave the car, for all we know it could have broke down and he said eff it not gonna hurt me and just left it knowing it would cost more than the car to fix it.

That's ridiculous. They were supposed to tow it away, not let the fines pile up to obscene proportions.

You'd have thought someone, somewhere, would have raised the issue of towing it at some point.

I'm curious about the whole "Car Goalkeepers" thing mentioned but that's probably best left for another thread.

just showed this article to my husband we sold a car to my husbands co-worker back in Juhne and we are getting registration notices and a notice that no isurance is registered with this vehicle so I asked my husband to ask his co-worker (technically employee as my husband is the manager) back in September and the guy said he didn't have the money to smog it (yet he had the $1000 to buy the car) and I had it smoged right before we sold it! The guy promised he would get it taken care and I told him I want proof you took care of it. So now its the end of November and I get another notice so again I tell my husband to ask this guy what is up (my hubby has no backbone so he probably asked him all nice and what not) and this guy STILL hasn't turned in the title of the vehicle. So now he has the title paperwork and this is goddamn rediculous.
I told my husband if this guy gets in an accident we can be sued or if he gets a parking or speeding ticket WE are responsible and my husband either doesn't believe me or doesn't get it!!
So thank you for this article because i told my husband I am going to the DMV tomorrow and then going to the police if I need to, and guess what my husband is MAD AT ME for doing it!!!
I now consider the $1,000 a rental fee and he stole my car so if I need to I will report the car stolen.

You can buy a car for 600? I never knew that. Should start studying how to get a license.

You can buy a car $600, I personally wouldn't recommend it.

Obviously they should have noticed the untouched tickets on a car that's been there for a few months let alone a few years, so is this another money grabbing scheme by another council, I think so.

It looks like she really had a great case. The car was issued its first ticket on May 23, 2009. But on November 17, it was cited for being in a dilapidated condition, not having a city sticker, broken headlights, broken windows, expired plates, being abandoned and for being left more than 30 days in a lot owned by the city. More information here: The parking tickets.
