Not to really put down anyone, but I think 500 bucks for cardboard is ridiculous..regardless of the condition.

I was watching that box.... but it got a bit on the silly side

Perhaps someone thought they were getting the toy with it?

As for the other one... erm was bought by the buyer at 14:54 and feedback left one minute later ... suspect much?!?

Probably be doing similar transactions to bury the bad feedback he just got...

Seconded. It's cardboard with...a picture on it. If Fortress Maximus is inside, maybe, but I think it's absolutely absurd for 20-year-old paper to be worth anything unless it's MISB, but even then, it's the toy inside that's worth the money because it's never been touched. Putting a used toy in an old box for $500 is crazy, especially since I don't think cardboard has much of an appreciating value.

Weird. Maybe that was a "Buy the Box for $500 and get Fort Max for a Dollar?" kind of deal? Was it the same winner?

Edit: Nope, different sellers, different buyers. WEIRD.

Weird indeed...99 cent auction and free shipping? Huh?

Hundreds of $ maybe be crazy but I can see value through rarity and interest in old transformers boxes. Money after all is just paper too, just like TF boxes. The value for both isn't in the materials themselves but what in what they represent and in how scarce they are. :thumb

Wow. They probably spent even more than that for a case to display it.
Doubt they'll just stack it into their collection without some protection after paying all that

Or maybe they have a loose Fort Max and is planning on getting a thousand out of it in a resale, making a few hundred $ in profit

So a Fortmax box is worth more than twenty Walmart Starscreams? That's really putting things into perpective...

As for the 99c Fortmax, I suspect a shill is going on to bury the negative feedback. I can't really imagine why, since it scarcely hurts the seller's rating.
