So it'll be 5 years tomorrow since the first live action movie hit our screens.

Looking back what has been everyones thoughts on everything ?

Personally the first movie got me into transformers and I am glad.

I enjoyed the second and third one but because the first one got me into it it means the most to me.

    Just a little something guys

Yeah, the first TFilm was the best. It was the first time we ever saw a live-action Transformer that could actually exist and talk to us. And seeing Peter Cullen return for the role of Optimus Prime was a big thumbs up. A great time back then, and even now.

I thank Michael Bay for making me waste money on piles of plastic.

I mean, I thank Michael Bay for making me a fan of the franchise.

I try to remember the positive anticipation I had leading up to the first movie, but trying to forget the crushing disappointment that came from seeing it is a little more difficult to do.

I honestly went in to see the first one, with my now fiance, with rather low expectations and both of us in generally bad moods thanks to massive work stress. We more or less just wanted out of the house and it was the only movie showing we had some interest in seeing.

We both came out very happy and a little bit bouncy our bad moods completely wiped away and our low expectations blown out of the water. For me at least it reignited my love for all things TF and got me back into avidly watching old G1, re-watching Beast Wars and actually taking a proper look at Armada.

The first Transformers was an absolute blast for me. It was probably my greatest time at the theater ever. Just such a great, fun ride which I was overjoyed to experience. Suffice to say I saw it three more times in theaters; there was something truly magical about seeing these giant robots believably on screen and through all the amazing and frenetic action the movie always had a sense of fun and heart. Haven't watched it in full in a while, so I plan to do so ASAP!

2007 was the summer of dreams. I still love this movie regardless of how bad its sequels are.

The movies got me full swing into the franchise, before them I didn't even know what a transformer was. I liked the first movie. I wish Bay would have focused a little more time and effort on certain aspects of the movie instead of mostly humans but if you look past all that the movies really weren't all that bad, I'm atleast glad someone decided to do them. Now that all the film directors and writers know how popular the franchise has grown, who knows what we're gonna get in the future.

I look back at it with sadness in my heart. I lost touch with alot of old TF friends that summer due to the great divide in new fans vs old fans who just couldn't stand the petty bickering.

Even though these last 5 years have been good for a G1 fan like me, I'd happily trade it all for going back to how the fandom was pre-movie.

I'm still waiting for a Transformers movie.

...and by that, I mean a movie where Transformers are the stars of the film...and not just for the gimmick/climax for the high points of the movie.

At least we got some cool toys and interesting molds; even if the toys aren't screen accurate. :p

The movie brought me back to the franchise after i couldn't watch armada anymore (stupid cable prices and Asian parents).
    I thank Bay for that.

    No, seriously, I thank him.

    Absolutely agree.
I can say thanks to Michael Bay, he made me the happiest man (oh, of course, woman!!!) on Earth! :)
Besides the fact that I became a fan (and it is a huge part of my life!) I learned a different look at life. And it's great!

5 years, eh? Been a fan for 7-8 years. Man I feel young, watched that sucker three times in cinema. Then the Asda/Wal*Mart 3 disc DVD set, with the motion comic.
