Double XP weekend haven't hurt Halo 3 at all.

I don't think they expect that, but as just seen earlier in this thread, somebody here's now planning to rent it this weekend. I doubt he's the only one. And I'm sure they're hoping rents will become purchases.

Also, stuff like this may get people who are tired of playing online back, and if they do have a 2nd DLC planned like many of us are thinking, they probably still want to have a sizable online community when it comes out, since it's very likely to be multiplayer-based.

 

Because XBOX/Microsoft has tomake their money too. So they want games that are going to make people like me have to buy a month of Online just to get my cheevos.
Its all business......

that said, I just ordered from Gamefly with a free ten day trial. Hoping it gets here in time.......And then I have to pay 8 bucks to hop online, hopefully I can breeze through and get at least 75 percent of my achievement points for my pride....and yes, I take my pride where I can get it, you're lookin at the guy that can only beat SFIV with Zangief spammage. I only care about the numbers on the scoreboard and the boxes unlocked. I finished all Soul Calibur IV cheevos by layin down and letting the boss jump to his death. Good times!

If you're looking for the quickest achievments for this game then I'd say go with the campaign mode. The online MP achievements are more time consuming (at least a lot of them are in my experience)

 

4x!? I only need 4 more levels on my Scout to make Prime Mode! This will be perfect for that & boosting my levels afterwards.

 

I'm loving it! Wish I could play all weekend, but have some plans with the wife. I don't see what the big deal is about the multiple experience anyways, everyone has different amounts of time they can play, some can afford to play every night, a couple of hours, and some who have jobs, school, families (or all three like a good chunk of us here) might only be able to get on sparingly. I went through the campaign when I could, and do multiplayer when I can, so I'm glad it's going to give me an opportunity to level guys up, since my trigger finger gets slower as I get older

This is getting a little ridiculous. So soon after the last surprise double XP weekend we get another one and its now quadruple XP!? This does not bode well.

I've been on purposefully holding back from playing online too much as to not max out my Prime mode. I mean, personally, once I can't gain any more levels or abilities, I'm done with competitive multiplayer. Could care less aboot doing the challenges or getting achievements.

With that logic in mind, if I'm maxed out, new maps and characters will be pointless to me.

So I think I'm gonna wait for a new DLC pack to come out before I play again. I'll just stick to co-op campaign and Escalation for now.

 

I might as well join, so count me in when I've finished work!  

 

this would excite me if i wasnt a pc player. i want my dlc and bonus characters, otherwise what fun is this game anymore?

if i could buy this game for my ps3 and carry over my pc account id be happy, but this is not the case, besides i like my 60 fps
