i don't see this as a good idea. sure it will bring lots of people in on the weekends, but after you prime twice, there isn't a point to play anymore (unless your like me who plays it because its fun, not because of trophies). so this really is only a quick bribe that will hurt the game in the long run. "a candle that burns the brightest, burns the quickest."

 

Why are most people complaining? If you can't enjoy the game with/without the double XP or being prime or not, or worrying whether your opponents are prime or not, then you should really just stop playing.

 

That's a good point. I guess it's a double edged (energon) sword. I'm sure there are a lot of people that will stop playing once they hit prime and get the achievement/trophy. It may bring up the numbers for that specific weekend but afterwards the numbers may drop even lower than what they were before.

Oh well.
I guess as long as there are at least 10 or so people playing I can still get a decent match going. I would hope it would never get that low!
Like shadowsfm, I'm playing mainly for fun. The increased XP weekends are nice because I don't get a chance to play tons (and therefore wouldn't be getting prime in one week anyway)

If they loved the fans that played it, they'd fix the godawful matchmaking, not just keep throwing shiny things at them so they'll forget about it.

 

Damn! I won't be able to play online this weekend! I could really use the 4x Experience since all my other classes except Soldier are super low.

 

Bah! Not only do I not have the game yet - Chicago Comic Con is this weekend, so I wouldn't be able to take advantage anyways.  

 

Providing multiple XP weekends is easy to do. Fixing other stuff probably isn't so why not at least do the easy stuff to make some people happy?

Again, SOME people have connection errors, others don't. It's not a community-wide issue.

As for people saying "This is just gonna give people an excuse to breeze through Prime mode".....not everyone who has this game gorges on Multiplayer everyday. My classes are still in the low double digits and I've yet to hit Prime mode. I want to preserve that instead of guzzling as many points as possible and thus blowing through the game faster. Right now I can't play the game whenever I want due to certain reasons and I'm fine with that because that means I won't marathon run it. I'm sure if the community for this game was gonna drop to nothing after people 100%-ed or maxed out their classes it would have happened sooner then a month after it's release. There are people who play CoD4 that got every achievement or trophy and maxed out thier prestige mode and they STILL play.

Quite frankly, with 4X exp she could just friggin' fire wildly and fall off the board every two minutes and she'd still level you up quite a bit. I'd just let her play a level or two of the campaign to get her warmed up to the controls.

As much as I love this, as leveling up my Scientist is sooooo paaaainfully slooooow (I usually die about 5x as many times as I kill someone), I have to agree. I really think this shows that this game hasn't performed up to whatever Hasbro and High Moon's expectations were and they're trying desperately to get people to keep playing this game online by whatever means they can.

 

I am one of those dudes that can only afford to rent it. I just want some easy cheevos before I return it. I think it works perfect in that sense.

 

Why?
We've already paid for the game.
Why do they want us to play online because sales are low?


Not every game is going to do Call of Duty\Halo level numbers.
