This is a Takara ko? Why.

 

Because sometimes Takara makes poor quality products that need to be improved. Just look at the Eagle KOs of MP-52.

 

It'd be nice if a KO could fix the shoulders. Like Ironhide's hip skirts, Magnus's butt flap, Prime's backpack, and Arcee's chest, we once again need 3P to fix a glaring yet easily avoidable aesthetic blight caused by Takara's baffling design philosophy.

 

This looks more than 3 months away from rolling off the assembly line.

 

I was on the fence about Trailbreaker on account of how janky it looks, but I might go for a KO just to see what it's like.

 

THF has fixed magnus butt flap.

 

Jesus, this is horrifying.

I know it’s a prototype or whatever, but this monstrosity looks like Trailbreaker’s decomposing corpse, pulled out of a cluttered house by police after a neighbor noticed the smell. I’m surprised these leaked images don’t have yellow police tape stretched across them.

(Look at the face - tell me that’s not the rictus of death!)

 

I can see shoulder ratchet joints! Does the original have them as well?

 

I'm tempted by this for Alt mode. I'm using MMC's for Alt at the moment and it's kinda janky. The mismatched colours, loose rear wheels and it's adherence to real-world deco and design kind of bug me. I like the more Toony look of the official's alt, especially the toon bumper swap-out piece. Don't think we've really seen much of that sort of thing since Inferno?

FT's isn't too bad but the mismatched windows kinda suck and the price is still a little too high for an Alt mode piece. A Takara KO might just hit the spot nicely.

I'm happy with my XTB toon version for bot mode though

 

Those are the right colors for a dead Transformer unfortunately.

 

That was what I was referring to. Prime and Arcee also had modified KOs that fixed Prime's backpack and Arcee's chest. And Ironhide/Ratchet had an upgrade kit that fixed their hip skirts. All very simple fixes that make a world of difference.

 

Wow, this is strangely specific. Is there something you would like to share with the entire class?

KO companies are so quick getting their stuff to market nowadays.

 

Isn’t this the unnamed thing we saw standing in the autobot mausoleum in Dark Awakening?

 

Question: When you say shoulder fix, do you mean increasing the width to make them thicker or something else?

 

I mean the fact that the shoulders are spaced far away from the torso for the sake of articulation.



Which is a huge difference from the cartoon model, where his shoulders are close to the torso.

 

And yet, despite having made KO MP Sunstreaker there is no KO of MP Cordon or MP Spinout. They have 93% of the tooling already and can't understand why they just don't knock those two out.

I'll be happy with my official MP-56, but now feeling very tempted after skipping over those Lambo repaints. Can never find a decent price for those two, especially Cordon who goes for silly money if you can find him.
