Sorry about it. Like I said, I needed to vent, and figured the political discussion rule just applied to U.S. politics.

I'm working on ways, but they won't be cheap. For instance I can just stop buying stuff from Internet stores located outside of Venezuela, but that means I end up paying more.

I can also dig into my savings (which are outside of the country because our economy is shaky at best), which is a last resort and also not cheap if I try to send black market money there.

And of course, there's the chance the regulation is reversed or the limit made more reasonable (anything is better than $400. 2 years ago it was $2000), but like I said I don't have much hope.

Yeah. Not a good idea. That's why I have all my stuff mailed to Miami, FL, and then privately sent here via Mail Boxes Etc.

Also, even if people send me money, I'd have no way of paying with money. I can always pay with goods. Gas prices are ridiculously (sp?) low here for instance ... but there's no way I can send gas through a courier. :p

I couldn't read what you typed ... but I agree.

Thanks. Like I said, I'm just venting ... but the sympathetic posts help.

Well, the extreme solution would be moving out of the country.

No wait, a revolution would be a really extreme solution, but I think just moving out would result in less bloodshed. I hear French Guiana is nice at this time of the year. :D

I figured as much, with so many ebay sellers flat-out refusing to send anything to Brazil for example.

I hate to say it, but I suggest moving out of the country. I mean, yes, you have family there, but you can always go back and visit them. At least, I would think. I know it may not be a viable option, but it is an option none-the-less.

Let's just say, it starts with a "C" and ends in a "T" and there is an "OMMUNIS" in between.

Without fanning political flames, the guy in charge is screwing you guys.

just mail your money to someone trustworthy to spend it online for you, and have it shipped to you. if sending money direct through the mail scares you (as it should) you can always hide it inside something of no value, like an emptied-out pen.
