Because very few movies that are poor to begin with have an extra 40 minutes of footage. Movies can shoot as much as, or more, than an hour of extra footage, but much of that is B-Roll or unedited footage that can no longer be edited. Even with movies that do get extra time, in most cases it's a measly 10-15 minutes. So still, in no way is your claim substantiated. Moreover, out of all the movies I provided, only 3 had extended cuts. Moreover, how do you know Godfather, Braveheart, GWtW, or Pulp Fiction wouldn't have been trash if they had 40 minutes cut out??? That's very much a possibility.
