My brain exploded in to mush a loooong time ago.
do you mean like snapping multiple verts to other verts at the same time?
It's really cool to see the progress you've made... your Super Fire Convoy Project on the hosted gallerys has been an inspiration and it's amazing just see the origins of that in your early works.
Now if I could only remember how to work Max...
Hi. I just started learning Maya, and I'm using Alias Wavefront (I think). Do any of these work with that program? If so, how do I use these? If not, are there versions of these for those programs?
lol I apologize for my n00bness. I'm actually trying to do a project for a Maya class I'm taking and need a model of G1 Prime at the very least, hopefully with his trailer and fully transformable, and I have to put together a presentation for I think late this month or early next month. I would make changes to Prime as necessary to meet my specifications for the project.
The only one I can see is the Megs model with it's picture posted on the forum here, and it looks very cool!
Is there anyone who can please help me? The only one I REALLY need at the given moment is Prime, but the more the merrier, I guess lol
Many thanks in advance.
Beg your pardon?
Is there anyone who can answer my question?
All the links say '404 Page Not Found'
Ahhh, I see.
Well, are there any places I can go to get a model of Optimus Prime for Maya7 and Alias Wavefront for free?
Or are all these formats cross-compatible?
I don't think that there are any places to get Prime for free. You might try Turbosquid as I believe Elgoodo has an Optimus Prime available for a price.
Or better yet, you can create your own Optimus Prime model. Depending on what level of detail you're going for it can range from pretty easy to damn hard. Since you're just learning, I'd recommend starting off with G1 Cartoon Prime since it's easy to do cell shading in Maya (well it should be, I'm using Maya 8.5; been a while since I used 7.0), and modeling won't be nearly as say, going from some of DON's or EJ's sketches of Prime (while DON's is a more detailed cartoon Prime, EJ based his off existing Mack Trucks I believe).
Conners, honestly it's not cool to even consider using someones model and altering it to meet your needs, ESPECIALLY in a class where your supposed to be learning how to make them yourself man
also, this thread is well over a year old, thus the "Zombie!" comment and such
i lost the webspace these were hosted at aaages ago, currently all the models are in a mess of backups after two hard drive deaths, yay dodgy apartment power
Wouldn't using someone else's model for a Maya class be cheating?? Shame Shame
Your best bet would probably be to make a Prime yourself...most ppl who put all the work into building a model don't like to give it away for free. You might get lucky...if anywhere this would probably be the place where some good samaritan would help you out...all I have is a Prime torso (no arms/legs) but it's an old 3D studio max file...if that would help I can try to dig it out for you LMK
Wow, Weewoo's still alive?
same it says not found but they should bge great anyway
How big are the files? Could the good good people at TFW2005 host them?
i originally posted this thread over a year and a half ago, its now the era of intricately detailed bay-formers, no one needs old chamfer-box bots made over five years ago
i won't be digging them up for rehosting, but if someone else has them feel free to go ahead and share
Always room for chamfer-box bots, Woo! I contemplated building a Bayformer for all of five minutes, and once I'd stopped my brain trying to leak out of my ears, I decided against it...
*fires up MAX for the first time in aaaaages, and has a dig through Generations to pick a likely candidate*
I wish the links would work. But they don't. Too bad, I'm hearing a lot of good things about them.
I still had all this models on my hard drive.
Anyone want to host them?
