I've been reading the IDW series lately and they feature a lot of big baddies. My question is who are the most powerful Autobots, Decepticons, and who are the most powerful from both sides? Its my new thread so I guess I have to go first.

Autobots
1. Fortress Maximus - No surprises here, I've always thought of him as being bigger than Metroplex and thus more powerful.
2. Metroplex - Of course he has to come in second considering he is a freaking city bot
3. The Beast - a combiner made from the Dinobots?! Do I have to explain how epic he is? Even though he looks silly.........
4. Omega Supreme - Subject powerful, arguments unnecessary.

Decepticons
1. Trypticon - A dinosaur AND a citycon? need I say anymore?
2. Monstructor - "All that lives BURNS for Monstructor"
3. Thunderwing - he nearly wiped out all transformers in the universe. twice I might add. That has to count for something
4. Sixshot - He is a one man assault force. He's wiped out entire planets. He has six different modes. I like him...

I would like to keep this G1, but who knows maybe some people think Rampage or some other guy would stand a chance against these guys.

 

it depends what continuity you go by.

Scorponok, unicron and BW Rampage deserve mentioning (rampage especially since he is effectively immortal unless selfdestructing)

 

I think Galvatron deserves a mention. He blew up a planetoid wth one shot.

 

The Fallen and Nova Prime too.

 

Autobots: Fortress Maximus, Omega Supreme, Metroplex, Powermaster Optimus Prime

Decepticons: Scorponok, Overlord, Trypticon, Sixshot

 

I think that power isn't always a case of who can bench press the most weight. We often see that the characters that are in the most powerful positions are the ones with the intelligence and drive to take power rather than follow others. Skill also seems to play a part in power as a character like Master Splinter from TMNT can defeat characters three times his size.

So I'd say the two most powerful are Prime and Megatron since they both always end up as the leaders and neither one will really stop until they accomplish their goals. Heck in most of the series even dieing hasn't been enough to stop these two.

After that it gets a bit tricky as to who might fill out the other slots if they ever came up with a Transformers version of something like Deadliest Warrior.

 

We also might need a standard of powr as well Otherwise, all four slots will most likely be filled by members of the Thirteen.

 

I would think that Primus would be in the top four.

Ok if you keep "the gods" out of this (ie Primus and Unicron).

The final answers are:

1. Star Saber (More so Victory Saber)
2. Dai Atlus (More so Big Powered)
3. Ginrai (More so God Ginrai)
4. Star Convoy (More so while in D.C.B.A mode)

If I had to pick one that rules them all...... Star Saber... with Dai Atlus as a close 2nd. If you have to ask why.... just go watch some episodes or something...

Was there a Dinobot combiner in the comics? I'm not a big comics guy- pick one up every so often, but never saw that. Can someone point me in the direction of said comic? I've seen plenty of custom toys, and they always interest me....

I'll echo ol' Protoform "Rampage" X, and toss in Gaea Lio Convoy as well. Being a living expression of the Matrix gets ya pretty close to god-status while still being mortal....

Kidding aside, it's really hard to rule out Optimus and Megatron. After all, both pretty much refuse to die, in just about any series, until the eventual climactic epic battle between the two where Optimus eventually wins - and even then, there's at least one instance (Armada) where Megatron doesn't actually die.

I'm just now starting to get into the comics (and so far, it's just IDW's Infiltration etc series - don't judge me, I like the artwork!!), so I don't know a whole lot about those, but Thunderwing and Monstructor are definitely "Holy shit, we're fucked!" calibur.

So there's my four.
