I thought it was totally gray and you had to paint it?

Same here. Was hoping for a Soundwave with all the tapes or the tapes sold separate of Soundwave.

It's amazing how actually looking into something gives you more info than just assuming.

 

I have two of it, really amazing design but poor plastic, in my opinion (the first one broke arms, feet and a leg pannel).
If IF had sold it already assembled, it would have been perfect...

The reason I thought this figure was gray and unpainted was because of the one ActionRobo has for sale. It seems there is an painted and an unpainted version.




Can't find it at the moment but I recall seeing a review where they reviewed the unpainted version.

I thought of buying this figure but after I had seen this one and it had to be painted I didn't buy it as painting of figures isn't my thing.

i dont know enough about the kit to tell what all is painted besides the silver metallic. but nice job on the bot.

 

Right now it is only the silver part (the grey plastic is kinda sad). But I´ll do some black wash someday, maybe when I finish the photos of the legends collection.  

 

Yeah I painted mine as well, silver teeth, Trex arms, the red and blue patches on the legs, etc, a little goes a long way. I love the design, and goes really well with the rest of the dx9 dinos in scale and look. I prefer the more feral dangerous Dino look than the more upright swayback of the dx9 alt mode.

 

At 5” tall,this guy would make a pretty good legends scale “toy” version jetfire:

Jeez... for $55 at least they could include some armor pieces.

 

With all of the accessories, it seems kinda on par with an IF release tho *shrug*

 

Eh... Cygnus comes with a lot more than this guy does.

i really wish there was a way to get that purple megs. them making it a lucky draw is such a stupid move. i bet that thing would probably be their hottest seller.

Yeah... no. Toynami quality is nothing close to Iron Factory. $55 for Iron Factory Cygnus is a far better value. That Toynami Valkyrie is... not great. I had one at $30 a few years ago and sold it off, not worth it even at that price IMHO.

 

Good to know. Had been considering one of them for a friend's bday gift.

 

I have completely avoided the Legends scale craze to date... but that New Age Megatron looks soooo good... better than the MP in some respects. So I caved. Then I saw that Legends Rodimus Prime that looks nearly as good as MP-9 or Hoodlum, and better than MP-28.... and jumped on that too.

I still don't intend to jump fully into this scale but I'm waiting to see what New Age does with Optimus Prime and/or Galvatron. The Magic Square one looks good, but it's becoming hard to find, and the DX9 one looks dated already. Definitely would like to pair the leaders up against each other.
