Please add Master Made Powermaster/ Ginrai Optimus Prime as well
Thanks for doing this!
What is this new age ravage
I think it's a movie ravage w/ the car soundwave figure. Not legends scale.
Ah I see. Thank you
No problem! I just get behind sometimes.
I just went by this thread here.
Hm. Can we get a consensus on this one?
I put Mastermade Omega, Metroplex, Scorponok, Trypticon, and Fort Max up there because I felt they were usable with Iron Factory. (I, myself, use Omega and Trypticon with my Legends collection) I've seen others use them as well.
I held off on Overlord and Ginrai as I wasn't sure anyone would use them with a Legends collection.
See above post, it's not what you're thinking of.
I would say no
For MM Ginrai, let's wait and see how his cab bot mode looks next to other legends... I mean we include Thunder Manus/Erebus because of the cab and I'd wager he'll he a little taller than this guy.
I plan to display the MM ginrai with non SD head would look really great with IF IDW battle commander. Both look to be about same height and a tad smaller than war giant. So it works for me. Similar heft in bot mode as well
Got MS Bluestreak in today. Loving the sculpt. Still have random loose joints and hinges, but nothing horrible. Definitely MS’s Achilles heal.
Overall a very strong release.
i feel like you just automatically get the ones with the loose or troubled joints. i wish you were catching better luck on these MS bots. the only one i ever had issue with was huffers foot. but that was a simple enough fix.
Nah, I have a lot of collector friends with similar issues. I can see it being an isolated case on a bot or two. But for every MS figure I own to have something loose really points to a greater issue (nylon plastic). The only figure that bucks the trend is MS Metallic Optimus which is quite honestly perfectly toleranced.
Here are some pics of the uneven clear-coat on the car sides:
You're lucky, wish Show Z would get this in stock already
So MS do have cracks in their armor.
Their are a lot of defenders here, but the reality is that MS figures get loose very fast due to the plastic they insist on using.
Their Metallic Optimus bucks this trend, so I am hoping MS improves their tolerancing going forward. Magic Square Bluestreak is great but still shows signs of tolerancing issues.
NewAge Prowl is very loose as well, but the tolerancing was perfected with the follow on Datsun releases. I hope the same holds true with The Magic Square Datsuns as they hit a lot of things right here.
Maguc Square Metallic Optimus Prime. 2020 Planking champion. Now those are some nice joints!!
That Prime, is the metallic finish from paint or is it the plastic that's molded in that finish? And if it is paint, does it have any in the joints that help to tighten the fit, or do you think that it really is the plastic that got tweaked?
Also, do you think that the floor polish trick would work on these or would it make them even looser? 'Cus I have a feeling that it would loosen the joints up even more.
that clear wavy finish is the reason i passed on that bot. i posted pics like a week ago.
also, the only reason prime is nice and tight like that is because of the metallic paint. the inner joints must have caught some overspray here and there while it was on tooth pics getting painted.
there is no way MS would drop the money to redo those molds by a ten- thousandth's of an inch. that just seems impossibly silly.
I didn’t say or imply they adjusted the mold. There are multiple ways to fix the tolerancing. I don’t think it’s just pure luck that every joint is tight because of the paint. If that were the case then you would have some joints that are in super tight while some are just tight.
I don’t know if they used pins that were the next imperceptible diameter size bigger, but I doubt it.
Whatever the case the end result is a wonderfully toleranced figure.
