Yeah, I am still waiting for some Smokescreen repaints. But you can count on them for toon, toy and translucent versions. BB and Cosmos are the only ones with E-Hobby repaints so far, right?

 

I stand corrected. NA is weird on scale. Just when you think they’re Legends “minus” they go back to Legends ”normal”.

 

They seem to be trying to follow the Sunbow scale chart, according to which carbots come up to about the waist of Optimus and Megatron. Personally, I'm not in love with that scaling -- and it seems some of the animators weren't either, as they often drew carbots bigger than that!   -- but at least NA is being consistent as far as I can tell.  

 

Maketoys Thunder Manus. He has some back kibble, but I think he really matches the Iron Factory aesthetic and is very poseable.

 

i believe so, i picked both of those up, gladly. also hoping for a version of their insecticons with clear amber chests (not clear bodies)

 

Youre right this may be Sunbow accurate but it looks bad to me. Id rather be "innacurate"

 

It's accurate to the chart, but not necessary the toon itself, which was pretty inconsistent. I mean, check out these two shots from the very same episode! In the first, the carbots seem to come up to about Prime's waist (a la the chart). In the second, however, Mirage comes up mid-chest on Prime. Rather different!

Which one's right? Whichever one you prefer! Like you, I lean more toward the second myself and thankfully between MST, NA, IF, and occasionally MFT I'm able to approximate that kind of scaling in my collection.

I don't know if MFT have done a mistake but Blaster has a MP scale, it's the same size than MP Bumblebee. I toke some pictures with other legend figures. Blaster still being AMAZING in quality, I can't wait the next MFT figures.

Oh no. The datsuns are shorther than the MFT cars.  

 

It is like that because in many cases when they drew the animation they showed two charcters talking or whatever but inorder for them to be clearly visible in the frame they have to make them a similar size. Sometimes they really do just eff it up but in general it is usually this reason or similar. I dont sucscribe to g1 animation being terrible as some might, there are these discrepancies but they are no biggie if you can understand them and chill about it.


In general i like the scale chart but much prefer dinos the same size as megs and op just because it never made sense them being hugely bigger because the cons would have all died...

And yeah, seeing the scaling of the carbots is partly what has turned me off legends plus. It is too common in mst line and legends+ and possibly how dx9 might have gone had they made carbots earlier. Glad NA isnt falling into the same format.

Don't worry, it's barely visible in person. It's more noticeable in a picture, but worst is NA Prowl, he is a dwarf.

Yes, they're Legend+ size, the weird case is Blaster. I don't know what to do, because he is an awesome figure, but it's totally out of scale.

Oh, I don't doubt any of that! My point was only that the toon was not consistent in the way it portrayed the size of the characters and so it's perfectly reasonable for people to differ in their scaling preferences depending on what scenes made the most impression on them. Personally, I prefer Optimus to be able to talk to his troops without having to look down at his crotch!   That said, I do think collections with more variety in size look great on a shelf.

He's about the same size as Hot Soldier's Prime though, right? That seems about right to me.

 

Blaster is too big, my personal opinion.

Sincerely I don't remember how's he big on cartoon TV show, but when I'm thinking in a radiocassette, my mind explodes haha. Today I will take more picture with Jinbao Optimus and other bots.
