I've gone through the nominations, and here is the short list of companies for 3P Company of the Year 2016. The Top Three go through to the voting stage as we did with the 3P Toy of the Year nomination (as they all have way more votes than the rest)

    VOTING NOW CLOSED

    1) Maketoys
    2) Fans Toys
    3) MMC (including Ocular Max)

Interesting to note that MMC and Fans Toys (reigning champions) have been company of the year before, but this would be a first for Maketoys.

To help make an informed vote, here are the releases for each company in 2016.

    Maketoys

    Hellfire
    Ironwill
    Wrestle (repaint)
    Despotron
    Katana
    Himed
    Vulcan
    Pandinus
    Striker Manus
    Rioter Despotron
Trash Talk Clear Convention Exclusive (repaint)

    MMC

    Sphinx Alternative Color (repaint)
    Sphinx Stealth (repaint)
    Sphinx Stealth Alternate (repaint)
    Liger (repaint)
    Backdraft
    Girder (repaint)
    Roadcrane (repaint)
    Terraegis
    Jaguar
Feral Queen & Nero Queen (repaint)
    Seraphicus Prominon
    Demonicus Prominon (repaint)
    Jaegertron
    Anubis (repaint)
    Carnifex
Titanika (shipped after nomination window closed)

    Fans Toys

    Lupus
    Willis
    Stomp
    Forager
    Mercenary
    Soar FT05X (repaint)

Full results and more detailed breakdown coming on my annual Year in Review write-up coming early Jan.

    Voting ends January 1st.

I went for Maketoys, simply because they gave me an awesome citybot in Pandinus, a fantastic combiner in Guardia, a brilliant MP figure in Ironwill with more on the way next year, the incredibly fun and inventive Cross Dimension line, and two minibots in the form of Rear End and the clear version of Trashtalk available only through Maketoys convention events. Class act all round, and four figures in the best figure voting poll! Amazing year for MT.

I went for maketoys, I love a good chunk of their figures. Their Despotron was great, and Pandinus is a wonder to look at.

I went with Maketoys simply because I don't want Fans Toys to win.

I voted for Fans Toys. The double punch of Stomp and Willis was way too much to ignore.

Fanstoys. MMC is a very close second.

    Difficult choice.

I have no hesitation to make FT Stomp the best 3rd party figure of 2016, but I just can't find myself convinced that FT is the best company of this year. I didn't care for any of their other releases this year -- have to think really hard what else there was next to their Hound, and that one was overly complex.

MMC is a good company and normally I'd say they deserve to win. And indeed, Carnifax, though I didn't get him because he doesn't fit in my collection, was a great toy. But at the same time I think they've lost a bit this year. Reviews makes clear Jeagertron/Anubis is lacking and a step down from the other Reformatted figures. Likewise, although I love the look of Backdraft and prefer him lookwise over the official MP, I don't think he's a particularly fun figure or even up to the same standard as other MMC figures -- and their Trailbreaker is possibly a step down from Backdraft.

So I'm going with Maketoys. Though not very accurate to any source, Wrestle and Hellfire were very fun figures. The first still is my go to MP Grapple. Likewise, I loved Ironwill and look forward to their Jazz. And though I didn't get them, their two Cross Dimension figures seem like a lot of fun.

Overal, maketoys seems to edge out for me this year. But it's not a clear choice.

MakeToys because everything they've done this year has been spectacular and they've done a lot. That's worthy of an award.
MMC has had a few slip-ups this year and aside from just one impressive figure (Carnifex) appears to be mostly resting on their 2015 laurels.
FansToys hasn't released much this year that was super impressive.

Predicting this one will be close because there will be a lot of auto-votes from FT and MMC fanboys. :)

Iron Factory would get 2nd place in my book, as they've also done an impressive amount of releases with good consistent quality throughout.

With four nominations? Good luck with that.

Absolutely love their toys though, the seven I have are all perfect.

I wonder how many anti-FT/MMC spite votes there will be.

Iron Factory. By a million miles.

And a whole bunch of other Companies that released product I liked more than those of either of the Big Three above. Bad Cube for Speedbump, GT for J4zz and DX9/Unique for Buzzing and for their sheer underdog hutzpah all deserve a lot more credit, but won't get it.

This is the first year since 2012 I haven't bought a Maketoys product (although if Downbeat had made it out the gate this year they may have got it - it looks spectacular) and Carnifex aside the MMC stuff I handled this year was a noticeable step down on the previous impeccable levels of quality they built up.

So, it won't be popular but I suppose Fanstoys gets it off the back of the astonishingly good Stomp - possibly the Best 3P Masterpiece attempt ever. But I haven't liked or bought anything else they've done this year, and unless they actually release Hoodlum next year it'll be another dry year from them for me. Plus annoying the fudge out of most with their glacial pace of work vs the prodigeous amount of Land-Grabs/renders of upcoming product.

Maketoys, MMC and FT took the majority of the nominations, huge drop off after that to Iron Factory and KFC.

I've edited the first post to avoid confusion.

Had to go with maketoys. Ironwill was a grail for me and even though I like fanstoys product I just don't agree with their business practices and their attempts to strange hold the 3rd party MP market.

Multiple line/scale coverage, focus groups at cons, steady online presence/implementation of the AR tokens, steady release schedule (without sacrificing quality)...YEP, Maketoys killed it this year.

Maketoys had one of the best years ever. I wish Iron Factory had gotten into the top three, I don't think MMC has had all that great a year outside of Carnifex.

Backdraft has proven very popular, but I think there has been a quantitative easing of Inferno's this year which pulled a few votes away from that figure. Anubis, Jaegartron and Prominion got a few nominations here and there too, and we had the red version of Sphinx as well (actually, blue Sphinx got a load of nominations, despite placing third in it's category last year). But I'd agree; it wasn't their strongest year ever, but Carnifex alone will pull in a lot of votes I'm sure.

Iron Factory have done very well though, and should be very proud.
