Besides Perfect Effect (sword, large gun) and DNA Design (hands, waist canons, reconfigurable large gun) there doesn't seem any other third party companies offering upgrades to the recent Titans Return Fortress Maximus.

I know X2 Toys had previously announced a Cog (Shaft) figure that went nowhere but I am surprised no one else plans to make one. What about the 2nd double barreled gun or large radar dish? Or even something simple like new shin gun mounts in grey to match the G1/Takara Legends toy (personally I painted mine) for Hasbro Max owners?

When you think about all the great kits made for Generations Metroplex just last year: Unique Toys Metropolis (new head, gun turrets and radar dishes), XT Interceptor (large red gun, large white gun), MegaMoonMan (new hands and ramps) as well as 3 different Six Guns (from TFC, Before and After and Iron Factory) it is somewhat disappointing to see the slim offerings for Max in comparison

It takes like 2 years to develop stuff like this. Expect some great Fort Max add-ons to be announced in 2017 for release in 2018!

They probably had to wait to have Fort Max in hand to develop most other than a sword and add-ons based on Metroplex. Heck, they might have even stopped working on Cog just to wait and see if Hasbro was making one or not.

 

I thought Iron Factory did a shit ton.

 

Yep. I expected/wanted to at least get Cog and a gun for Cerebros in addition to the gun and sword Perfect Effect put out.

Here's hoping Iron Factory makes a Cog.

 

Oh I missed the announcement of that one, so it's also from DNA Design, their Dk-04 upgrade kit that adds a new crotch with red circle, new hip ratchets and the slippers you mentioned.

They did that nice EX-02 Turrets and Manacle (Six-Gun and Slammer) set for Metroplex but nothing for Fortress Maximus yet, afaik. Unless you count all of their Legends class figures as accessories for Metroplex and Maximus  

 

Pretty sure it was a good year before any of the CW Devy add-ons were released. If you want anything sooner, you're gonna have to hit up shapeways.

 

Really the kind of add-ons I want to see involve some huge changes. DNA have got the right idea tweaking the legs for the larger head but I want to see something that could actually give the alt modes something more to them. like a making the "battle ship" mode actually more ship like. and giving him a city mode more akin to the original.

 

It seems like a no-brainer making upgrades for the big Transformers figure of the year. It seems like a no-brainer creating new pieces to remove the Headmaster gimmick from guys like Hot Rod. It seems like a no-brainer making Targetmasters for guys like Triggerhappy.

But never mind that, who's up for another MP-style Inferno?

There is a Shapeways gun for Cerebros.

 

The gun and sword for a robot the size of a city seem kind of pointless to me.
I'd rather have his partners, ramps, something to replace Cerebros in citymode while also making the tower taller and other things to enhance the playvalue for the altmodes.

And where are the upgrade kits for the TR voyagers and deluxes: Galvatron, Mindwipe, Brainstorm and the targetmasters need some tuning.

 

I know at least 2 companies have Titans Return stuff in development and 1 that has some Combiner Wars stuff coming. It just takes time...

 

You forgot Apex armor for Sentinel (which just has to happen, right?)

 

For Max, I just need the hip guns and someone to KO the Rebirth-style Cerebros head Takara did. Maybe make it grey to match my Takara Fortress body, and he can be Marvel Cerebros. Everything else, from ankle tilts to guns and even to Cog, I can live without.

And I need Rebirth heads for all the main Headmaster characters. At least Chromedome and Brainstorm. Come on, someone! Take my money!

And a Firebolt (get the name back) Targetmaster for Hot Rod.

 

Yeah I'm also surprised by the lack of Fort Max options... I want Cog most of all, but also some ramps and proper guns (I think someone is doing the rifle).

 

Looking at shapeways there's a couple of items I found made for TR Max:

Octavirate Forge has a replacement Titan Master Cerebros faceplate (Rebirth and Headmasters style) as well as the Grand Sword and Gun for Cerebros.

Eoja's Customs made a G1 styled big gun with a 5mm peg as well as an adapter to make it usable by TR Max.

jaytfparts made an adapter which does work for the two G1 Max guns and big sword. I left a comment asking if he would offer this in BHDA (Black High Definition Acrylate) material.

Transformation Station made a ramp adapter that allows TR Max to use G1 Max's ramp, but this mod will involve some pin pushing.

 

Yes, that MP Inferno situation is so crazy! I'm hoping 3rd party companies shift back a little into making more upgrades for mainline TF's, I'd love better heads for TR Galvatron, Scourge and the other traditional non-headmasters just to have options. I'm using the Mastershooter Collectible Targetmasters but would not mind an update.
