Nice. I like what you did with Thrust's face. I only painted the eyes yellow, but I like the silver face. I forgot that was his colour in the toon. Guess it's time to bring out the ol' brush and paint.

 

How did you get them to stand straight legged/not flipping over? And without any kind of weird leg stance?

I love what he did with the face as well. Very bold considering how expensive they are and a shame it would have been if any mistakes were made.

They're just way too expensive/rare for me to alter. I'm jealous!

Took a while to get them all balanced if I recall correctly. I took that pic a couple of years ago.

I have some experience painting miniatures so I wasn't too worried about painting the faces.

@Honesty - come to think of it the coneheads are standing straight there because I have their knees locked in the forward position. Still not perfect but they do balance better that way.

 

I think Hex looks great with MP scaled bots.

 

love the sentiment of this thread. I already prefer the proposed atmosphere in this thread compared to how the official thread works. just the fact that anything regarding 3P or KO product in the official thread can result in "cool stuff bro, but that trash has no place in my collection!" turns me off every time I see it. just would honestly not have to deal with it at all anymore if it meant there was a friendlier outlet.

That's exactly why I wanted to start this thread. There's too much negativity and nastiness that goes on too often! I figured a good 3P MP thread was long overdue and I hope we can keep the atmosphere fun and enjoyable for everyone! I personally love pictures of official MPs with the 3P stuff as it all goes together so well!

No, I don't consider Toyworld's Roar as an MP, I just prefer to display him with them over GCreation's Thunderous. I'm not sure how I'm gonna put Sever in there... will probably have to remove Soar's flight stand and put him in front.

Agreed. Hell, I was given shit for posting custom Classics figures in the CHUG Appreciation thread, as if some DIY mods and/or paint suddenly makes them not CHUG figures anymore or something. Folks need to stop thinking they're mods when they're not.

Anyway, right-o, no negativity. But how did a Bayverse figure slip into this thread?   Technically, we did get MP-M01 Starscream and MP-M02 Bumblebee, and I consider the Buster/Striker/APS Leader Optimus figures in the same vein as those Masterpiece releases, especially with the FWI-03 Jetfire upgrade kit and 3P UFO articulated hands (boom, there's your third party requirement):
