Seeing how 3P companies are focusing on combiners lately, who do you guys think that should take a shot at Defensor? I know that TFC is remolding that Star Q toy into their version of Defensor, but even though I'm a big TFC fan, I don't think it's good enough.

So which 3P company would make the perfect Defensor in your opinion, factoring size, price, alt modes, etc?

IMHO, Fansproject should do it, as Defensor should be Menasor-sized. Also, Groove should get a diferent alt mode, like a pick-up or something (over here in Brazil they're used by the police).

FP/MT because I like their scale better and FP's stuff is pretty much the cheapest of all third parties.

Definitely Fansproject or Maketoys. They have the best prices and designs, IMO. Mastermind Creations might be good candidate, too.

Someone who can make sense of how ******ed Defensor's vehicle makeup is. A motor cycle leg is hilariously stupid.

Yeah, helicopter arm being roughly the same size as a motorcycle leg is standard scale nonsense for TF.

Perhaps Groove being futuristic three wheeled bike + sidecar + some other accessory would give designers enough "mass" to work with.

Then downscale Blades to a a heli-drone with no cockpit or something

    anyways . . . FP/MT

Totally Maketoys. I love their scale, and their work to date has been great. Groove's a pain in the arse, but for sake of accuracy might as well make him a Cybertronian-scale bike like the Junkion molds (y'know, designed for transformers to ride on?). I could totally get behind Blades as a helicopter drone over a manned one.

And then they best do Superion too. But first let's see some of that thar Computron!

Fansproject. Similar scale to those stunticons. I can see them getting super creative when updating Blades and Groove

    FP/MT for sure...

And I totally agree that both a helicopter and motorcycle need to be rethought...

Fansproject. Maketoys is doing Computron next and nothing must stop that. Nothing.

I'd love for Groove to become a bulldozer in the redesign for the full Rescuebots homage, which is itself a homage of the Protectobots anyways.

I will say it in every 3P Defensor thread that arises, make Groove this:

Fits him perfectly. Instead of seeking solitude on the open road, he's gone to roam the peaceful mountains, where he'll leave grooves in the snow wherever he goes, and it's another emergency service covered instead of having two police vehicles.

Edit: Also who-ever does it absolutely has to make an additional Heatrock and Skyfeather too. I see them both as drones, Heatrock as a mine rescue drilling robot, and Skyfeather as an unmanned Search and Rescue plane.

If no-one does all this I'm going to have to build it myself, and I just don't have the time for that dammit! I'd rathre just give someone my money!

    MakeToys.

I'm so in love with their Devastator I couldn't want any other group to work on Defensor.

And I'm fine with Groove being a bike and Blades being a helicopter. The Classics line is full of non sense vehicle scale anyway.

I'd say MT or FP, as Herc sized would be too big.

First choice would be FP, so their altmodes would scale to match the FP stunticons. MT is a close second choice.

As for the issue with Groove's altmode, if it must remain a motorcycle, I like the idea of sizing the bike so that the other limbots can ride it. I wouldn't have a problem with that.

And some sort of copter-drone for Blade's altmode sounds good too.

Yep, I agree. No-one has an issue with how out of scale the MT Constructicons were (Long Haul should be 2 or 3 times as big) so it's less of an issue for me. As most people on these boards say, the majority of people favour the bot and gestalt modes over the alt modes anyway.

I'd take an out of scale update of Blades and Groove that is otherwise fantastic over a drone and snow mobile. May as well just get the Starcats version if they make that big a deviation.

FP/MT, but only if all the characters keep their g1 alt modes. I would rather accept that they mass shift over being realistic. Gun megatron is awesome, but a realistic gun megatron would be stepped on by optimus.
