Some of you have seen my 3D Soundwave that I'm making. Well, I thought that he needed his lil' condor buddy to go with him, so I decided to build my namesake. This is a very early WIP shot (started only a few minutes before posting this), but I'm still curious as to what you all think of it so far. In case anybody's wondering, no he can't transform. I designed him just to look cool in bird mode posed next to my 3D Soundwave.
Small update: Added vents to his "engine". I'll be doing the guns next, then adding some detail to the wing. The head will come last. EDIT: Guns are done. Yeah, I'm a big fan of useless detail.
'Nother update: I started adding some details to the wing joints. Hydraulic pistons are some of my favourite parts to model. I also started filleting some of the edges so they don't look so sharp. Unfortunately, filleting the whole thing is gonna be a real pain. What did I get myself into? Anyhoo, that's the last of the updates for now. Keep checking back to see how the model progresses.
Update alert! After much frustration, modifying, rebuilding, and tedious filleting, I finished the wings and main body. The body frustrated me to no end, as the damned thing just wouldn't fillet right. So I had to go in and modify the whole thing. No biggie though, at least that part's done. The gun/engine is 95% done. Just need to solve a wee problem with the fin and thruster. Anydangway, here's my progress so far. C&C welcome and appreciated.
Coming along really nicely...and lurve that detail. Should look pretty damned good alongside Soundwave! Rob *who can finally get back to some good old vertex-bashing*
Some more hot, fresh updates for you all. This time, I got the engines and legs finished. Comments? Crits? Let 'em loose!
I think the barrels are too skinny, but that's a matter of personal opinion. Otherwise, wow. No, really, wow.
The model is FINALLY done! Woohoo! This is my first 100% finished TF model (Soundwave still has a ways to go), and one of my best works. His head's all done, and there's a few extra details put in. Final renders coming soon!
Pretty good Laserbeak model, looking forward to seeing your Soundwave model ejecting him from his chest.
...or him perched on his forearm, reporting his findings here here! LB, yet another masterpiece by you! what on earth will you turn up with next?? Andy
