That's kinda cool, but where's the coloured buttons? D: They always make the controllers look so chearful.

And $65? In before "MICROSOFT SCREWING US OVER" posts.

The only reason the price is hefty is because it's part of a pack. So you're paying for the controller, which is basically still 49.99, and the charger, which covers the additional 15 bucks.

I like the color. Very sleek and shiny. plus the d-pad improvement is very obvious and welcomed. I wouldn't mind dropping 65 for this.

I'm wondering more if they have improved the tolerances for the battery pack over the current controllers that were released at the time of the Slim model.
I bought a set of large capacity rechargeable batteries as my current Play and Charge packs are beginning to loose there holding capacity and the batteries will go in but it's a very tight fit and I doubt I'd get them out again. My older controller is slightly better fit for the batteries.
    Normal AA batteries fit fine.

I doubt they will have as this will be based on the Slim controller model.

Still, does look nice, though shame about the loss of colour on the buttons.

If I remember correctly, Major Nelson mentioned these being released as a bundle first and then being phased into replace the existing controller SKUs.

Yeah, sometimes the button color is what keeps me from looking down and doublechecking my button press. Since multiple systems have had X,Y,A,B in the past, the thing that makes the Xbox controller stand out are those colors.

Gah, even I use the colours for quick reference. Still, I might be tempted to pick one up as I've been considering getting a charger pack.

I'm a noob like your girlfriend. My problem is that X on the PS3 is the bottom button, while X on the 360 is the left button. I think X on the SNES was the top.

So sometimes I just go with colors when prompted on the screen. But I am experienced enough now to know what is what. That's a pretty sexy controller.

and I too use those colors and miss them already. I can always get my friend to mod the buttons to make em colored again

Wow. So the one thing we wanted the controller to be improved upon finally happens, but in return, we lose the color for the A, B, X, and Y buttons?

First the $10 increase in yearly Xbox Live subscriptions, now this. Microsoft, you guys really know how to piss off a lot of people.

Id have to be pretty hard core in Xbox 360 games to drop that much on a controller.

I think some people are forgetting this crucial part when looking at the price:

Charging kits are about $20, and controllers about $45. For people like me who still need more controllers and a charging kit, this is great.

The D-pad on the all Black controllers (ones included with the S) use the improved eight-way D-pad they introduced as a limited edition Pro-Evo controller in parts of Europe. It works really well with SSF2THDR.

Still, I'll probably get one of the even newer ones. I need to add to my controller collection and might as well get the better release.

I get that everyone's used to the colored buttons but I don't get how it's a super big deal. I mean by now everyone should know just which button is which without even looking down. Even if you say you don't you still do since most 360 games have the same face-button layout as a PS3 game.

I mean getting pissed at something so trivial is kinda dumb.
