to anyone who didn't go see the rerelease of the 86 film today, it was preceded by 3 very funny stop motion skits using the kingdom/SS 86 figs and directly related to the film itself. returning voices for the clips also involved stan bush, greg berger, John Moschitta, among others.

the first skit was jazz(voiced by stan bush) attempting to act his scenes for the film but depressed that he's been discontinued and therefor set to die. he then bargains that if he sings a great song could he stay; he then breaks out a guitar and sings "the touch", suggesting he wrote it. the director is impressed enough by the song that he says he will talk to the producers about letting jazz live in the film.

the next is hot rod rehearsing his big scene with the matrix but dropping and breaking it. he blames galvatron for having sweaty hands and galvatron denies this and asks if its to late to recast hot rod.

the third is the most self aware and funny; scourge and his sweeps set down to ambush the autobots on junkion and the sweeps set into a debate on who was reformatted into who by unicron. scourge maintains he was thunderscracker and cyclonus was skywarp but the sweeps bring up the infilm animation and argue with him over bombshell. it goes nowhere and he ends the debate by ordering them to battle but it was great meta humor and awareness of the fanbase regardless.

-also, of note is that the sweeps, using the SS86 scourge mold, are colored a much lighter colored blue, unlike the real SS sweep figures coming out, as far as i know

That's pretty funny. I'm hoping those get released in some form outside of the theaters, either on the HasbroPulse website/youtube channel or someone gets good recordings of them. I really want to see the Scourge/Sweeps one in particular.

That's how the SS Sweep looks. It's a deco similar to the original toy.

Funny they made the Death Scene skit with Jazz given he was one of few who didn’t die. These were great and it was obvious they were written by someone close to the fandom
