Someone bidding on their own sale under several guises to try and up the price? I think they might've overdone it. :p

Hell, I've got a MOSC G1 Bumblebee I'll sell them for a £1000 if they want.

THIS. I can get a lot of MISB G1 figures for that kind of coin.

This is the term I was trying to think of. I was wracking my brain and all I could think of was 'Shirley Bidding' which didn't make any sense at all. And I was too lazy to Google the correct term.

So, wonder when this'll show up for sale again. Because I really can't imagine anyone would've been stupid enough to actually pay that price for it to sell.

The remarks and questions asked about the item are pretty entertaining! Wonder if some poor dumb sod with WAY too much money actually won this, or if he really was having a (drunk?) laugh with some friends... Either way, eBay comes out on top, with the fees earned.

OR, is it because it's a rare version? Most G1 bumblebee's are in Robot mode.

I suppose if I was rich enough and just wanted to buy some carded figures from my youth I'd maybe just go ahead and pay whatever rather than bother to engage the sense of my brain.
If I won the Lottery I'd be all over the things I always wanted to own and maybe not that careful about the prices I paid. But even then I'd look at this sale and go 'Er... no'.

Thought I would clarify this since I started this thread. It turns out to be the rare pre rub version (TM) and $2000+ is the "normal" price range for it sealed/in good condition, I started another thread in the toy discussion forum and quickly got an answer. Thanks for everyone.

Why are people so mad about how other collectors spend their money?

It is entertaining to see people post with no sense, shill bidding? Really? Thing is, it's the rare pre-rub 'Bee and is highly sought after by MOSC/MISB/AFA collectors...two of which from this very forum had a bidding war to win this. But to post some ignorant BS like shill bidding is ridiculous, some of you really need to get a clue...

That was my thought given what this is. I still think they spent a bit more than its actually worth but hey if the winner is happy its all good.

People calling bidders on this item "dumb" or harping on the point of how better money could be spent come off as petulant and ignorant.

The shill bidding accusations are just straight up egregious ans unwarranted.
Before you drop that slanderous bullshit have some faint clue of what youre talking about.

@ Shin- I wouldnt worry. There may be only 3 or 4 people willing to go that high, and thats just for the pre-rub yellow TM card Bee.
