Anyone pick this up? I got it yesterday and love it. It's nice playing as different people in different missions. But there area few things they could have done differently. I would have loved it to be a 24 hr long game where you can do all kinds of things per hour as different people. As of this game, one mission per hour is the limit. They also have an unrealisitc clock so far. You can take time throughout the mission and time only passes at "checkpoints" where it moves forward. Then toward the end, they have a final countdown which acts more realistic. Otherwise I love the game. The skins are dead on and everyone being involved is a definate plus. I know I'll be putting a lot of kitbashing and comic reading on hold while I knock this thing out.
Dude, give me a lengthier review on this game. I just love the 24 series and when I heard a game was coming out I couldn't wait. But I want to be sure the game is cool before I buy it.
Okay, I have done the first 3 missions, aka 6am-9am. 6-7 is a Bauer mission. He is in charge of taking down a cargo ship The graphics on the regular scenes is AMAZING. I mean, it is Kiefer Sutherland. Then you and a team of CTU agents goes onboard and takes down hostles to disarm a bomb. Controls are pretty good. The only thing I can;t get is the weaponless takedown, no idea why. The clock is useless until the last 3 minutes where you arrive at the cargo hold, take down the guys, and disarm the bomb. And yes, you have to disarm it yourself. 7-8 is Chase mission. You are with DC CTU and have been working with a sleeper cell. Chase calls CTU to inform Chloe that they are planning on assassinating the VP in LA today. The line you use is tapped and you have to fight your way out of the bunker as well as take down the two leaders of the cell. Again, time is meaningless until the last 2 minutes to escape before lockdown. 8-9 is another Bauer mission. You go to this guy's house, he runs and you drive after him to an office building. The building is on the VP's route and you have to take this man alive. Run around the building killing people, rescuing hostages, and get the bad guy without killing him. Time is not an issue. But like i said, it's a visually fantastic game. The story is not a true real time which they should really work on. If Final Fantasy can be a 52 hour game, they can mak ea real time 24. More missions, more to do, longer game. But if you love 24, I definately say to get this. It's supposed to not only just be a game but also fill in blanks between seasons.
Okay, I played a lot today. More on the game. Forget about what I said about every mission being an hour. After those first 3, the missions become more involved than 1 per hour. I think between 10-11am you do 3. Also I got to play parts of Michelle Dessler, Tony Almeda, and Kim Bauer. Definately a full scope game.
Cool, sounds nice. So the graphics are nice in this game? Might have to rent it this weekend and check it out. Thanks Wreckgar.
ooh. i spent saturday watching the first 14 episodes of season 1. after i decided i wanted the game. might have to look further into this...
