Brand Licensing Europe 2016 Expo is just around the corner and Hasbro spoke to the press regarding their plans for 2017 and beyond.

As usual, Transformers Franchise was the center of attention. Regarding upcoming Transformers movies, the following was stated:

"In 2018, we will see a never-before-heard story of Bumblebee and in June 2019, Hasbro will unveil an entirely new exciting storyline for the beloved brand."

Nothing was revealed to the press (not yet anyway) and partners will get a chance to see a sneak peek into the future of Transformers on October 11th.

No offense SilverOptimus, but you really do tend to read too much into the things Hasbro says. This likely means they'll unveil what stories they have planned for the Cinematic Universe. Maybe a spinoff cartoon will be involved. The idea that Hasbro would spend all this time and money on developing a Cinematic Universe, then plan years ahead of time to throw it away, is absurd.

I hear your sentiment. Hence will not say anything officially until I hear exactly what they say on 11th. Could be anything. I agree that it's just vague statement on Hasbro's side.

How do we know it won't be an entirely new storyline for the existing TF movies or the planned Hasbro Cinematic universe?

Seems like just fancy wording for a sequel

Discuss away. I'm curious myself how this develops. 11th is just a week away. Keeping fingers crossed for now.

Edit: I edited the title so that it's not very specific, until we know for sure.

A reboot or rather a soft reboot. A change to status quo. Something similar to what they did when they relaunched Transformers into RID and MTMTE?

It's good this franchise has plans going, I'm looking forward to them and I hope they will be great.

But Bee's voice should repaired, so that he can talk in his own film. His using radio transmissions has outlasted its novelty and use; he doesn't have to be Charlie Chaplin to be friends with people.

Pretty much. Plus it's a subtle way for Hasbro to present itself as 'media creators' and not just a toy company (I'm pretty sure they use similar wording for actual toylines now, too).

If it's a reboot, that should shut most people that have been crying for one.

I doubt at this point we'd get a reboot, not unless they gave up on the TFCU. Maybe future films will simply feature a different group of Autobots and Cons. Almost what happened with AOE, but more so, no prime, no bee!

Maybe the new story as what will connect everything into the Hasbro Movieverse?

Hasbro, just get it over with and make Bumblebee a Prime already.

I think Goldran Prime would be more fitting.

I really don't see it happening. They made a big deal in ROTF and DOTM about Optimus being born a Prime.

I don't see Bee becoming a Prime but if OP vanishes for a while, I can see the powers that be, to grant Bee with the title of Knight and he become GoldBug
