Is it too early to start predicting? I don't think so. I know the a oscars aren't for everybody so must let the thread be for people who do care for Oscars in order to avoid any arguing and staying on topic. variety had a good article on this years Oscar hopefuls. If you click see full list on each category they will also tell you their picks of dark horses and on the bubble. While I don't agree with all of their choices (LaLaLand sucks big time, and why Viola David in Fences is listed as Best SUPPORTING Actress instead of Best actress I don't know but maybe she has a better shot at winning in the best supporting actress category looking at who is in there. I also feel Silence was underrated in their article. Nevertheless the article is a good one and worth a look: OSCAR PREDICTIONS
Moonlight and La La Land seem to be the front runners. I can speak to Moonlight being incredible. Look forward to La La Land in December. Really wish Ben Foster would get the best supporting nod over Jeff Bridges in Hell or High Water but he won't.
Not sure honestly. Those two to me are the stand out movies of the year. I guess Neon Demon could get nominated for its visuals and sound, but that is about it since it was a garbage movie.
I dunno man, from what I'm hearing Moana and Kubo are pretty damn tight so Finding Dory may have it's work cut out for it.
Because of people complaining last year, expect a few nominations that might not have happened otherwise.
What about zootopia? Plus the anime movie What is your name is getting a lot of buzz also. It's a huge hit in japan.
