So October is pretty much almost here & what better way to get into the Halloween Spirt, than some nice old fashion viewings that's pretty spooky. Here's mine for Next Month: Hellsing Ultimate (Rewatch to celebrate my one year anniversary of meeting Crispin Freeman last year) Courage the Cowardly Dog The Shining Cape Fear Gremlins John Carpenter's the Thing Lego Scooby-Doo: Haunted Hollywood (Yes I wanted to See it since I watched the Knight Time Terror Special on Welker's Birthday) Cowboy Bebop: The Movie The Halloween Tree Tim Burton's Sweeny Todd It And so on if anything Netflix has to offer.
I need to find a way to watch the original Halloween, when we had Netflix even though it was at the top of our list and available they sent us a different movie farther down on the list. So I'm going to go to my local video rental store and see if they have throughout the month, and then I plan to finally sit down and watch the American remake of The Ring. Don't know of any other horror movies I want to sit down and discover this month. Maybe if the Nightmare on Elm Street movies are on TV I'll put them on. Might go and buy The Conjuring 2 on DVD and rewatch that too.
And it's still Horror. The Reason I'm gonna watch it cause of that the Movie is gonna be part of the Lego Dimensions Year 2 as well about the truth how it's a Classic.
I was kidding -- for me, it's a Christmas movie, but you can watch it whenever you like. And yeah, I haven't played LEGO Dimensions yet, but the Gremlins and A-Team packs have me interested. I'm not a huge horror movie guy, but I'd like to try and catch The Fly (1986) for Halloween this year. That movie is great.
If no other film can be watched... An American Werewolf in London is the definitive must watch. Followed up by Poltergeist (the good one, not the remake). John Carpenter's Halloween. Rob Zombie's can be played any time during the year. If it's on, Trick or Treat.
Well normally I don't do Halloween, only Christmas, but this I just watch The SpongeBob Halloween Special, Some Godzilla Movies, some Universal Monsters Movies, & The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.
I'll probably watch the original 2 Halloween movies as usual and other favorites such as IT or the Thing.
Wasn't it SyFy (or whatever they're calling themselves this year) that used to play a horror movie every day in October??? Or another channel..but seems to fit Syfy. Not a big horror fan at all... just animated ones.... Like Batman vs Dracula or Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
I'm hoping to finally introduce a friend of mine to the Scream movies this year. On my own I'll probably watch Godzilla, Evil Dead, Psycho, and a good handful or so of Scooby-Doo movies. I'm hoping I'll be able to watch On Zombie Island for free on my Xbox, like I was last year (I still need to get that and Witches Ghost on DVD).
Well I already watched The Fog, The Forest, Pit and the Pendulum, Friday the 13th P3, Crimson Peak, and The Last Man on Earth. I've got planned to watch: The Thing Halloween franchise (well, the first 7) Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (first time) Bram Stoker's Dracula The Darkness (first time) Night of the Hunter Psycho The Mummy Scream 1 Trick r Treat The Shining As many episodes of Tales from the Crypt I can get through and of course, the first 8 Simpsons THoHs. Oh, and not strictly horror, but Shin Godzilla.
American Werewolf in London gave me the shits for months. I was afraid of freaking closing my eyes in the shower for a while. My Halloween must is Mickey's House of Villains. Cheaply made compilation of shorts but the premise is great if unused, the musical number is great, and the shorts themselves are great gems. Other Halloween favorites: Vincent Price on the Muppet Show Boo to You Too, Winnie the Pooh Alien Hocus Pocus The Nightmare Before Christmas (though generally I consider it more of a Christmas movie) The Thing (86) This YouTube Poop formerly called "A Spingebill Spooky Scary Halloween".
Yeah. The scene where we first hear it at the pub and everyone shits themselves was really great too. If I was ever depraved enough, I would use that howl as a prank or something. I'd go to hell but damned if I didn't use the scariest animal howl in cinema to pull it off.
