Ah crap---I only bought the first one because I'd been waiting all those years for a Unicron toy. Looks like I'm going to end up getting this one for the higher G1-ness factor. Looks really cool.
That doesn't mean the big dog can't fall. Ask GM and Toyota how awesome that ride on top was near the end lol. Personally, I don't see a reason for all the Hasbro Bashing. Takara paints/makes toys aimed at the adult collector. They are the main driving force behind reissues, alternity, and stuff like that. Hasbro, wants to sell stuff to children because the US market is very different different from Takara's. so if brightly colored toys sell well to child in the USA, Hasbro has to do it. Personally, I don't even look at Hasbro stuff anymore. Maybe every once and awhile i'll snag a Hasbro product but for the most part, i'm all Takara!
It's cool, I dig it but I'm not buying one unless there's some kind of epic godfather like deal at AA. Also he still has his stupid transparent hand. :sadface

I agree that it should not be around the $130 price tag but considering that it will probably appreciate in value similar to the Takara Primus. Its a going to be a good investment. Or a very good part of your Transformers collection.

Your a bit off about Kenner and Star Wars. The original Kenner SW line was killed due to low sales in 1985. And Kenner was another companies bisch since 1967 when General Mills bought them. General mills also bought Parker Brothers in 1963. Then sold both of them to Tonka in 1987. And then Tonka was bought by Hasbro in 1991.
Takara not only makes toys, but they also own other smaller companies that makes power tools and heavy machinery. They also invest in companies that research in clean power. If you read their annual report you will see big chunks of money has been dumping on non toy making projects. Not that they are weak in making toys but they are not focus in their own business.
Wow, a whole lotta love for this Unicron..sorry, but he's not on my list, easy pass! What's with the day-glo orange again??? There's been 1 too many bots with this color combo in the last year..somebody at the factory really must have purchased too much paint and using on every robot possible!
