    Just a very important FYI for everyone out there. My 09 boxed botcon set was missing the following items from it;

    Thunderclash's gun & projectile
    Scourge's Cyber key
    Kup's Cyber key
Flak's gun, projectiles & cyber key

Be sure to check your boxed sets!

Did you pull out the foam? They should be underneath.

Yes, I did. I even almost took apart the foam in an effort to locate the accessories. The tech specs, instructions and moisture packs were the only items under the foam. They are definitely missing. In fact another friend of mine, fellow collector and TFW board member is missing all the same accessories from his box set as well.

    First I've heard of this.

I bought 3 box sets this year without problem.

Just contact FunPub and they'll hook you up.

I got my Iacon package today. My accessories were stored underneath the foam.

I thought I saw in some other thread that there were a few box sets that were missing the accessories. Those people just took the set back to the Club booth outside the dealer room and they fixed the situation. (Basically saying it did happen during the show)

At this point, just do what Counterpunch said and contact FunPub. They've always been good about fixing these type of things.

My friend Rhion (tfgeek71) is going to contact FP for me to get the missing accessories. I figure since he was the one that actually bought the set because of his Primus attendee package that they may be more cooperative with him than with me since I bought the set from Rhion. I'm not worried about too much. I have faith that FP will anti-up the missing accessories.

But I am fairly discouraged from buying Botcon sets in the future. One quarter of Kup's legs came off in mid transformation on me. The shoulder assembly pin on Scourge's right shoulder is super loose causing his arm to droop badly. And one of the tank treads/arm armor was very difficult to attach to Landsharks arm. Almost as if the pegs and holes were not properly sized.

Between the missing accessories and the QC problems I'm kind of dissappointed in this years set. Some of my dissappointment will be rectified when Rhion is able to get the missing accessories for me. But in comparison to my 2007 Games of Deception set there is a stark difference in overall quality here. Hence my disappointment.

Man, that stinks. You've had the most QC probs I heard from anyone this year. My set was mostly in great shape (Landshark, Thunder Clash, Scourge, Kup, all in excellent condition), except for one of Flak's feet not folding down.

The guy at the FunPub info booth exchanged it for me, and also informed me that's a semi-frequent manufacturing error on that mold (Cybertron Defense Scattorshot/Dropshot/Overload/Flak), where the pin on one foot isn't properly inserted through the leg (misses the actual hole & punctures the plastic) so that one of the feet doesn't fold down right in bot mode without stressing the plastic.

Hopefully you can get it all sorted out soon!

No worries. They usually order extra for this purpose. When they have their sets produced they basically create a spare pool or say 10% more to cover any items damaged in shipping or five-finger discounts at the factories.

Well the fun of getting my missing accessories to my Botcon set begins. I suspected that since I bought the set as a third party from tfgeek71 (Rhion) that he would have to be the one to call Fun Pub about the missing accessories. But I took a chance this morning anyways and called them myself. I was very nice and polite about it and after explaining my situation I simply asked them if they can send me the missing accessories to the set.

This is where it starts to go south on me. The lady who I was speaking to started to give me this disclaimer line bullshit about how they cannot be responsible to third party owners of any Botcon sets for any missing accessories and that I have to take it up with the person I bought it from. I tried very nicely to explain to this lady that Rhion is a very good friend and would not have taken the accessories out and kept them. I told her that when Rhion got the box set he put it away to eventually deliver to me and did not think he needed to check the set to be sure it is complete given the value of the set. Then with a very slight attitude and annoyance she told me that they made an announcement at Botcon for eveyone to check there sets to be sure nothing was missing so that they could resolve it at the convention. And that Rhion should've checked the set at that time. She told me that after the convention is harder for them to replace the missing accessories and that Rhion will have to contact them himself to resolve this for me.

So now I'm convinced that Rhion will have a very tough time going to bat for me to get the missing accessories. I am also convinced that when Rhion speaks to them that they will treat him like some poor kid that didn't listen to directions considering how annoyed she sounded when speaking to me dispite my being very nice and polite. I think I'm screwed with this set! :mad  :banghead:

I'm sorry but that's not a bullshit claim. The only obligation FP has is to the people they sold the sets to, not the 3rd, 4th or 5th parties that purchase them afterwards. It sucks that your boxset is missing items, but the bottom line is your friend should have checked out the boxset before he left the convention. I had to wait for about 15 minutes at the info booth till they could scrounge up a boxset that had a weapons set they could give me. I wish you the best of luck, but now it's time to get on your friends case about contacting FP and resolving the problem.

Sadly this sort of thing has happened since 2007. I think it's the result of constantly increasing the number of boxsets each year and what could be a poor process for sorting pieces when the boxsets are assembled by FP.

My friend who sold the set to me is a very nice guy. I am uncomfortable getting on his case too much because he didn't have to sell me his Botcon set. He knew I wanted one and was not able to send in an order form in time for the non-attendee package. So he hooked me up because he's nice like that. But I've spoke to him and he is going to contact Fun Pub for me to try to get these missing accessories. I just hope that they are more cooperative and helpful with him than they were with me.

yea like MM said you can't get mad at the lady at FP. Think about how many times people probably try to scam them. Sorry, but can't agree with you on this one. Seems like FP has gone above and beyond to rectify, and frankly they have every right not to fix your issues being a third party owner.

Yes, because she can take your word that he "is a very good friend". This statement lends no credence to you nor him and in no way, shape or form is relevant to your argument. Your conversation with her is no different than me buying a loose Classics Inferno without its missile and complaining to Hasbro that it wasn't complete. Not saying you are lying, but they cannot be responsible for items after they have left the initial buyer's hands. Welcome to the real world.

That being said, I hope they rectify it for you the right way - i.e. him calling FP himself.

Every year the issues with the boxsets are hit or miss. In 2007 my set was fine, but my GFs set had the wrong launchers. Fast forward to this year and my 2009 was missing weapons and her set was fine.

Just got a message from a guy I sold a Scourge, saying he's missing the head. Given these types of issues I keep hearing about, I don't doubt him at all. I'm already foreseeing a wonderful time managing this crap with other people I've dealt with and FP themselves.
