I have been a He-Man fan since I was a kid and when Mattel and Cartoon Network created a new series in 2002 I was excited to see it. It was a great new take on He-Man but sadly it ended before it's time for a number of reasons. When I learned that the series was coming out on DVD I knew I had to have it so yesterday I bought the first of three volumes at Target. The Target release has an exclusive DVD of the first three episodes as a movie as it appeared on Cartoon Network which has some corrected scenes that the three individual episodes do not have. I watched the movie DVD last night but didn't watch any more. Today I wanted to watch a few more episodes but when to He-Man.org first. That brings me to the topic of the thread.

While I was at He-Man.org I ran across a post on the front page about a problem with the first disc. I appears that in Episode 4, The Courage of Adam, that a scene is missing that shows Adam escape from the dungeon in Snake Mountain. Here is what He-Man.org says you can do about the problem.

I hope this can help anyone that has bought the disc but may not have watched episode 4 or didn't know what to do about the problem.

I bought it this week too, but I haven't seen the fourth episode!
    Thanks!

I got it and returned it once. Will try to return it at the other Target in the area..

Yeah the disk freezes right as Cringer is being chased by the doom seeker when he is disguised as Panthor. Then it skips to the Masters coming out of the cave and them getting attacked by the bone creature.

Has anyone e-mailed about the disc and got a response? I e-mailed them Sunday and have yet to get an e-mail back from them saying they will ship one out.

They've probably got a lot of emails to sort through. The same thing happened with the big Superman box set. Once I finally called them, it took them the better part of two months to send me the replacement discs.

Is that error on everyone's 1st disc? If so, that sucks. I'll have to see if mine has it too...

From what I understand all volume 1 sets released have this problem. If I remember what I read on He-Man.org right it was something that the people reviewing the DVD before release missed so when they went into production all of them had this problem. I think the same article said something about a bonus item being shipped with the replacement DVD to make up for the problem.

Yeah, I sent an e-mail on Sunday, as well. I've never done one of these replacement disc things, so I have no clue how long it will take for them to send it to me.

This happened with one of the original series box sets on a couple of disks. I emailed them and eventually did get the replacement disks in the mail rather quickly, considering something like that would seemingly take a long time to fix. BCI did a good job with that then and hopefully will do the same now.

I loved that show. It came out the same time as Armada and they did more justice to Heman than Armada did to TF

I had no idea that the new He-man show was out on DVD.
I am definitely buying it despite the error.

I was not a very big fan of the original, but I loved the new show.

It's a shame how Cartoon Network and Mattel mishandled the property.

I know what you mean. Hordak was probably going to be the focus of the next season. Too bad it didn't get that far.

Some people may have seen this rant from me before.

The show came out when DVRs and Tivo were still emerging technologies.
Cartoon Network bounced it around so much it was nearly impossible to know when the show was actually on.

Me and a friend of mine would call each other and go "He-man is on now."
If grown men had so much trouble finding and watching the show, how did they ever expect kids to watch it?

That was the beginning of Cartoon Network's "going bad".

I definitely wanted to see how the stories progressed.
Plus, the Sorceress was HAWT in that show!

yeah I tried to catch each episode. I ended up watching that more than Armada, I fully expected the opposite. Go figure. But between Ninja Turtles, He-man, and now Animated... All of my favorite old shows have been pleasantly redone.

I would say that was true for me, too, but I am still waiting for an (good) update on Thundercats.

According to He-Man.org BCI should have the replacement discs next week and should send them out soon with a free art card.

    I picked up the DVDs.

I'm very impressed with the packaging, the art cards, everything.
I like the little touches like saying how Teela finally used her staff becuase she never even had it in the old show.

Hell, they even managed to make Mekaneck kind of cool.
