No, I totally get it. It's not even a "quantity over quality" thing, just a little mental quirk where dropping $60 here and there is so routine you don't really think about, but $100 is somehow a big, expensive number that makes you hesitate even though you spend way more if you add up the smaller purchases.

Like this week for instance, i have spent $150 on 3ea 3P figures, and another Titans Heardhead on $9.88 rollback! i didn't really flinch.. but if i was spending it on one figure, i just have a hard time! it's this mental block.

I live in south Orange County here in California. I thought it was expensive to live here, but I think you win on that one. But maybe you have a supercharged V8 and ate prime rib for lunch. Hehe.

While I still think I'm in the middle ground of how much I spend on collecting, I've scaled down my collection a lot these pass few years mainly because of cost. I don't have displays jam packed with figures, but I think it's worked out better for me since it provides a clean display with the characters I had the most affinity towards as a kid.
