Well he's done enough to show alt mode shots. I might put another gloss coat on him tonight. 3 out of 4 hoods are shown here. spoiler is attached via magnets under the trunk. the dice in the windshield were from a necklace kit I bought at a craft store each hood attaches to the fold-up hood from the original alt hotrod. please feel free to ask any questions. bot mode should be up this week. I have some more tweaking still to come, and even from these pics I have a few alterations . (blowing something up 1000 times it size helps find imperfections)
Excellent work, Toby! Always a fan of your work and this really shows the hard work you put into it. I agree, I love the second hood! Your work just keeps getting better, my friend. This is some of your best!
Thats really awesome! How do you do a reshell like this? Do you just take the chevelle parts and stick them over the ford gt panels or do you have to take them off first and attach the chevelle parts to the limbs somehow?
Damn...son..that's tight..I love old school too.....man I might have to hit you you up for a commission job
it's mostly the trick of precisely matching the model kit with the panels on the source bot. I got lucky here, since it was an official sdcc rodimus and I didn't have to alter the wheelbase to fit the kit, not all reshells are so easy. I am always open for commissions, but these reshells are costly, and take awhile. they are not to be rushed.
Wow... Outside of these words, I'm speachless. Incredible work. LOVE the added sidepipes from the cybertron clocker mold.
The hood with the engine is my fav, I like the decals on it too, has the hot rod colours, but I like how you have them straightened, matching the boxy lines of the car, screams Hotrod to me. Can't wait til you show off the bot mode.
that second hood is pure win on that reshell. The paint screams hotrod, and the style screams 70's. I think that this one of the best customs I've seen in seen in a hell of a long time. Great work and I can't wait to see botmode
I'd been mulling over some older vehicles as Alts, and this is really inspiring. This is one of my favorite projects of yours, and I think you know I'm quite the fan of your work. I can't wait to see more!
