Maybe everyone got tired of everything being a sequel at the box office and wanted something new.
EVAN ALMIGHTY cost 210,000,000???? That's absurd!
How is the article lame? It gave you stats.....and this one is huge...
"Paramount estimates the global box office by end of day Sunday at $246.1 mil."
This movie is chugging along at a nice pace. And think about all the people who went and saw it again....and again....and again!!! I for one will see it for the second time later today. You really have to see it twice to get everything that went on. I guess it goes back to the original ads for the '86 movie....
"You have to see it twice to take it all in".
This opening week also shows that the movie business is not dead and if you give people the kinds of movies that will amaze and entertain....well....people will come in droves!!!
I'm so thrilled that Transformers is doing so well. It's the only movie I've seen this summer that hasn't disappointed me.
I made a topic about this already if you care to join us there.
This is great news indeed.
you just linked us back to where we are right now!
Good news indeed! The movie industry needed a new fresh idea. Transformers is proving that. Good News.
I think they're referring to the soldier in the beginning of the film who was constantly being pestered for speaking Spanish.
hey guys...its actually more like $188,753,961 worldwide!!!!!
Can't agree more, that movi had a TON of obstacles to overcome, and it did it.
This news makes my Leaky ceiling issue seem better ^^.
I agree, Lets hope next movie focuses more on the story and the bots.
Awesome awesome awesome...
I think it's safe to say we DEFINITELY have a franchise on our hands.
Way to go Hasbro.
Now off to my third showing.
Also I'm assuming this isn't taking into account the charity pre-release screenings as well.
hehe..... I've watched it 7 times already..... watching it again on tuesday.....hehe... i know i know... its overkill.... but cmon..... its gonna be a couple of months before the DVD's out and the cam versions online jus dun do it for me...
Words cannot express how happy this makes me.
I'm almost in tears... I can't believe Transformers is #1....
I can't believe it... our franchise guys and gals.... OUR FRANCHISE
At this rate, Transformers 2-5 will be confirmed to be in production by the end of the month.
It will be interesting to see how much attrition occurs between this weekend and next. I know that Harry Potter is coming out, but even so, I think the box office will probably drop by half. Everything depends on opening weekend these days.
He was the soldier who wouldn't talk English at the beginning. He was injured in the fight with Scorponok, but in the book, he dies on the plane back to the US
We rock! Yay! We always new Transformers rocked and now THE WORLD knows Transformers rock!
