I knew Slender Man scared the shit outta 12 year olds but I didn't think they'd see him as a freakin Aztec deity or something.
I love and respect the Slenderman mythos, Marble Hornets being the main Web series I watch. But of course it's only a matter of time before you run into the crazed fans who deify and become obsessed with a personification of psychological horror. Perhaps some counseling will be in the future for these two...very much needed along with whatever punishment they receive.
Well... Good to hear the 'friend' survived, hope she recovers. I dunno what to even think about the whole "made-up internet character tells me to MURDER people" business and tweens getting tried as adults, it's all just so damn weird. Kinda odd seeing other news articles apparently treating Slenderman/creepy pasta as "legitimate" mythology, like an actual archaic pagan cult instead of modern horror entertainment.
No, I absolutely believe it. This world is a horrible, horrible place sometimes. And these kids are just a small sample of what's really out there and what the remainder of this generation and future generations will become. We worry about world war, we worry about the economy crashing. We should worry about the people we least expect driving a blade through our hearts.
