Everybody else seems to be voicing my thoughts - the toys look way better than this. I'd even take 07 movie Leader Prime over this thing.

My Buster Prime looks way better than this cartoon.

I think it looks pretty good, better than the sideshow version. ONLY because it's a better pose. What's so hard about making a robot stand up straight sideshow? why does he have to be in a dynamic (shit) pose?

I'd get this over the SS

I'm gonna guess that the head isn't the the final version. It's just too out of scale with the rest of the statue to have passed Hasbro's approval. And it does say across the bottom of the description: * Actual finished product may vary from description. Subject to final licensor approval. Images shown are prototype only.

Anyway, fix up the scale issue on the head, and I'll bite!

He kinda looks like a vinyl, regardless $400 is way too much for something like this.

The more I look at this, the more I'm falling in love with it.
I can only hope the Sideshow one is revealed before this one comes out, so I can make a comparison before choosing.

Otherwise I'll probably just pick this one up first. As Popbox said, "First in the line", probably hinting at more to come, this would probably be a better option for those who want a set of several figures rather than just a standalone.

I have ROTF leader Prime, and while relatively movie-accurate, a transforming toy can never capture the screen dimensions accurately. This statue ain't perfect, but it's the closest to screen accuracy I've seen yet (excluding the Sideshow version of course).

If only they'll make one of Devastator, Blackout or Bumblebee, it'll be my favourite TF merchandise ever.

Seriously, who would buy that ugly piece of crap? It's not even poseable. With that amount I could get like the Takara Buster Prime and Jetfire set 5 times.

That would be amazing value, if they were even remotely the same thing. statues aren't transformers, even if it's a statue of a transformer.

But when a children's toy is a better representation of the character than a statue that costs hundreds of dollars, you've gotta wonder how they expect anyone to want this.

I would. Because poseability is not a concern for me. I place emphasis on detail and screen accuracy, and as such, I'm willing to pay the price because it fulfils my desire for screen-accurate representations of my favourite characters.

I have ROTF leader Prime just standing 3 feet away from me, and while being fairly accurate, it doesn't capture the movie's looks as well as this one does.
To each his own, but when I get either this or the Sideshow version, it will be the prettiest TF toy I own.

This should be a good comparison :

You sure bout the children's toy being a better representation eh?
Sometimes blinding hatred can cloud one's judgement.

Not saying the statue is 100% perfect and screen accuracy, but its a heck of a lot closer to the CGI model compared to the leader class toy.

you picked one of the absolute worst pictures you could of the leader class prime.

also, that's not the movie's CG model. that's the early, simplified version used in marketing materials.

anyways, the thing that image really proves is how bad the proportions of different elements SUCK on this statue. the chest is hilariously small.

If they could make a statuette that looks like this now that would be something!

see, THAT is an awesome statue sculpt. awful pose, but yeah. awesome.

scaled down version of that, in a normal standing pose, I would buy. I know scaling it down would result in lost detail, but the proportions and design of the thing are just perfect, aside from the giant silver things by his shoulders.

I would love to own that!

I'll judge this statue when I see some more loose pics of it. I'm also anxiously awaiting the Prime statue from Sideshow Toys due out this year!

I'm sure Sideshow's will be awesome....

I love good statues, but the price will always be an issue for me. I could only afford to get my absolute favorite character(s), which is Bumblebee - and Ironhide, but Bumblebee would be more likely to get made like this.
