The fact they're called cons are also the saddest coverup ever. They had those cards showing who they killed and who they didn't. They didn't kill Ironhide since he died last movie. Yet it makes you wonder what cards had an "X" on it. I mean for all we know the others could've left the planet or stay in hiding from humans better than the humans know. I just assumed all Autobots who didn't return were killed. Plus, all the Decepticons who still remained around the world after the battle in Chicago ended, who had deployed the Pillars during the battle.
Yet they called the bots Decepticons as well......it really didn't help explain much. Just an excuse to hunt them down. Hell the President in the movie just wanted to talk with Optimus but they wouldn't allow that. They would kill him before they let that happen in anyway. I wish Bay would explain or show what happen to each character instead of killing them off without explanation
It's the only thing that bugs me about the movies. At least we got a comic for DOTM explaining what happen there........AOE is not getting one.
The way I see it there are two possibilities 1. Hasbro didn't want to have more than 2 autobot deaths in one film, so michael bay just tried to imply that they became victims as well. 2. Hasbro didn't want to kill off all the old cast to in fear of having a repeat of the 86 movie controversy, and told bay to leave their fates ambiguous for possible use in later films
I was actually curious if it really was 12 decepticons remaining and he was just continuing to hunt autobots on the side. So 12 decepticons plus an undisclosed number of autobots.

Attinger had 2 decks of cards guys. One was a deck of Autobots and another was Cons. And he said there are still "less than a dozen Decepticons" still in hiding. And I believe he was really talking about Cons. Lockdown even says he's been hunting bots and cons. You even see dead cons at KSI and one dead con protoform was repurposed as the blue KSI security drone that was shot by the Autobots when they raided KSI lol. And "less than a dozen Decepticons" probably means about 10 or 11 left. Which I'm sure Galvateon will locate.
